Our HVAC unit went out November 2022. Choice Home Warranty sent out Formula Air to replace our unit. It took till December 23rd 2022 to have it installed. I noticed right away the unit wasn't working properly. It would come on, shut off then come back on constantly. We contacted Formula Air about the issue and their tech informed us that this is normally for new units. Fast forward to 4 services calls and every part that could be replaced on a new unit replaced before they finally fixed the issue. Our power bills were between $500-$800 a month for several months till they replaced that last part. Then after that part was replaced the tech said well what you explained made me think this was the problem. We also paid to have duct work updated. Summer time comes around and I noticed the ac unit isn't keeping up at all. We like the house at 69 but it struggled keeping the house at 73. It usually would climb to ***** during the day. Our power bill skyrockets agai . We again contacted formula air and they said submit another claim with CHW and they wouldn't charge us a fee because it should of been done to begin with. The same tech came out and said that our new unit wouldn't keep our house at 69 they were meant to be set at 73. He also said it was because we kept the bedroom doors shut. Mind you our 30 plus year old unit kept the house at 69 with the doors shut without issue. This was all before he even checked the duct work. Then he said we needed to update our duct work(which was supposed to be done at install of the new unit but they said we didn't need it, We had the best). He checked the duct work and said we needed to spray foam it. Contacted the office again because after 2 weeks no one called us back to see what could be done. they said submit another claim thru CHW yet again and they would come out. We were told 5 different times that *******(the owner) would be calling us and we have yet to hear from him.

    Good Morning,

This work order was originally run through a warranty company. Choice home warranty, because this is in association with their guidelines we have certain restrictions and obligations. We replaced their hvac equipment to direct match the equipment that was present in the home in terms of capacity and made sure its efficiency was brought to current standards as this is what was paid for by the **************** and meets nc code requirements. Additional issues and coverages would need to be submitted and approved by the warranty company as it is not a service that we provide for free. We have had multiple technicians go on site and verify that the equipment is working at the capacity it is designed to work at. We are also going above and beyond and have had a quote to put insulation in the attic which we have agreed to pay for. We pride ourselves on making sure people get the quality service they pay for. In this instance they need to direct a lot of their concerns to the warranty company that they are customers of and have coverage under. With that being stated we are doing our best to help in whatever way we can within reason.
