      **** Yarbrough Construction was hired to build custom bookshelves in my living room. I sent him a photo of the desired bookshelves. He built them. They were not completely like the photo but I accepted them as he remarked "some are built this way and some are built that way". The Construction was completed and paid for 10-4-2023. I paid $4,417.00 Check #****. I am not asking for the electrical work and fixtures to be reimbursed. I was out of town from 10-15-23 to 11-15-2024. When I returned I put books on the shelves. In the middle of the night of 2-28-2024 the shelves fell down. They are custom adjustable shelves with pins securing them to the shelving case that he built. He came out and said that it is just a problem with books on a shelf and with adjustable shelves and put silicone around one pin. I didn't like this but decided to trust his decision. The shelves fell again. He came over and said he would put a shim betw een the wall & the shelf at the pin.He refused to correct the problem (as suggested by me to pull the right board out and make it plumb to the wall by shimming behind it, I told him I saw this on This Old House) He said he was not going to remove the over molding or the side trims or the right wall to level. I sent him a certified letter on 5-9-2024 to refund the cost of building the shelves in the amount of $3,100.00. The original check was for more because he installed the lower cabinets, electrical lighting & the electricians bill. I have heard nothing at all. I have had several contractors/carpenters out only to be shown numerous other faulty construction issues with these shelves.
