    Last summer my boyfriend and I moved from *********** to ************** so that I could be closer to my school. We were living in hotels in the meantime while we search for the right apartments. We came across Braxton at Lake Norman and we saw that there were units available for a one bedroom apartment so we immediately put in an application. We were accepted and we paid the deposit to secure our apartment but they wait until after we paid upfront to inform us that we were under the age requirement of 21. The issue is that the leasing agent, ********, looked at my ID prior to the applications and on my state ID it says that I'm under 21 in red and she didn't inform us of their age requirement. They were not truthful in lending to me and my partner and it was not specified on their website that we had to be 21 or older. Months go by and it was March 26, 2023, I see a collection/chargeoff debt on my credit history from Braxton at Lake Norman. I owe those apartments nothing, I've been calling them and leaving voicemails and no one has reached back out to me to get the issue resolved. My main concern is to get the collection/chargeoff debt off my credit history and ONLY if it's possible get the money we paid them back. If I can't have both, I would really prefer to have it off my credit history because I know it's been a while since I paid them that security deposit.

    This prospect stated that we rented to her while she underage per our requirements.  However, this is incorrect.  All occupants 18 or older are required to be on the lease making the legal age 18.  This prospect applied on 6/11/2023, was approved and cancelled on 6/22/2023 as you can see in the attached documents snipped from her activity log.  This prospect also agreed to the terms of the online application process which states these fees are non-refundable.  A copy of the agreement to the application is also attached from her activity log.  These fees are not a deposit but rather an administration fee for processing the application and are not deemed refundable.

    I am rejecting this response because:
    They are lying, their legal age was not 18 it was definitely 21. I even called their corporate number and she told me the same thing. I also have receipts to prove that I actually reached out to other people to see if they could sign on with us because we were cheated out our money and didnt want it to go to waste. They can lie all they want to try hide their wrongdoing I just hope they know I will be leaving reviews on this place on how dishonest they are and lack integrity.
