  We have been using ChurchDev for our website and hosting for a couple of years now. We are paying $29 per month for the *** plan, which seemed like a good deal at first. However, we soon found out that this plan does not allow us to make any changes to the design or extend the functionality of our website in any way.The only way to do so is by paying extra money to ChurchDev, but even then they don't give you access to the work you pay them for. We had also uploaded audio, photos and text files of our sermons on our website. When we asked ChurchDev for a backup of all these files, they told us that they don't provide it.Furthermore, when we asked them if we could migrate our website somewhere else, they refused as well. This was very disappointing as their interface is built on WordPress, so it can be migrated easily(!) and despite being a faith-based company (it seems) serving faith-based organizations, they still refused to provide us with a backup of our content or website design, in bad faith! When I chatted with ****** (the owner I believe) on the support forum and ****** on the phone about this issue, both were quite short-toned and unhelpful about it. They seemed annoyed we would ask about these things. They don't mention anything about these issues in their TOS either.All in all, it has been an extremely dissatisfying experience working with ChurchDev and I would not recommend them to anyone looking for web hosting services or design for their church.

  You can make any changes you'd like to the site and we provide full support. Support is included as part of your do it yourself plan. We never charge for support. I don't see where you ever requested anything that you couldn't do free with the do it yourself plan. I see today you asked for us to redesign your site like worldchangers.org. Clearly if you want us to build a site like that there would be additional fees above and beyond the do it yourself plan. I don't see anything on that site that you can't do yourself with the tools we provide. And we'd be happy to provide support for any part of it you need help with. But if you just want us to build it for you that's not covered in the do it yourself plan. You are not allowed to move everything we provide to a different provider. We gave you a fully setup site specifically build for a church for zero setup fee. You are more than welcome to move all of your content to a new site. We migrate content for churches all the time. There is nothing stopping you from doing the exact same thing. You just can't copy over the entire site and tools we provide as part of our service. To receive all of the tools and services we provide you have to pay for the service we provide.We are more than happy to help you with anything we can. The this plan does not allow us to make any changes to the design or extend the functionality of our website in any way is 100% false.We have a customer that has been with us for a few years. They contacted ******************* about redesigning their site. ******************* then contacted ** about moving the customers site to his servers. We do not allow that. He is free to migrate their content the exact same way we migrate content for our customers every day. The customer who contacted ******************* has since contacted ** about having a redesign done.
