We had a horrific experience with our 15 day board and train at Sit Means Sit in ***********, NC. For starters, we were lied to by the owner, ****** who told us he would be training our dog due to her high energy level. When we went to drop our dog off that following week, we were told that he left for vacation and would be out for a week. We also feel that our dog was neglected by the staff. On day 10, we were told by her trainer that she looked like she had lost a "little weight" and asked if they could increase her feed. I said, "of course you can! How much weight are we talking?" She weighed her while I was on the phone (2-9-23) & stated she weighed 32lbs! (She weighed 38lbs when we dropped her off!) That is 20% of her body weight!! She said she noticed a couple of days ago & apologized for not telling me. I was irate and told her that I would be there shortly to pick her up & that she would not be completing her board & train. She looked very skinny, dehydrated and scared. They did refund our money at that time however, that doesn't make up for the vet bills we have encountered since & the neglect (and possible abuse) she suffered. Besides the severe weight loss, she also had hair loss, broken toe nails that were bleeding, and a change in personality (cowering, scared, etc.) We were also told by the owner that our dog may need to be double "shock collared" due to her high energy when we first visited the facility (abuse?) Also, they advertise live web cams on their website however, when we dropped her off they stated that they haven't been installed. Now I see why.
