      In July of 2023, I received an ultrasound at Granville Medical Center for my pregnancy. I was 7 weeks pregnant at the time. I was following up to see if I had a multiple gestation pregnancy after being referred from the doctor's ******* Granville Health Systems billed me for two ultrasounds. One was a transvaginal ultrasound, and the other was a transabdominal. The transabdominal ultrasound was not clinically indicated due to the early gestational age. I was charged over $1,000 for their mistake. I tried to dispute this several times with the hospital, but no one returned my calls, letters, or met with me for an in-person meeting. I sent a formal letter in the mail requesting a sit-down meeting to discuss the matter. There was no reply from the hospital, instead, they sold the debt to a debt collector. In January of 2024, I gave birth to my son. I received a quote from the doctor's ****** regarding the cost. I have since received five separate bills related to the one hospital stay. They have charged me over $4,000 for the care provided. When looking over the itemized bill, I was double and triple charged for items that I did not use or care I did not receive. I have attempted to contact the director of patient financial services multiple times. I have called and left written messages and voicemails. No one is returning my calls. I am afraid that they are trying to wait this out so that this debt can be sold to a debt collector as well.
