In August 2023 I engaged Remedics restoration in repairs needed for a water damage claimed filed with my insurance. While they were originally responsive and appeared to be committed to customer satisfaction initially, this quickly changed throughout the process. Not only was I passed around to several different project managers, contractors, etc. the communication was horrible and the results of the work performed is awful. I had to spend about 2 months in a hotel while they finished the repairs and worked to try to remove a strong fume smell in the house. There was no empathy shown along the way for the inconvenience of my family including a 10 month old baby. I was actually told to move back in the home with the strong fumes smell because it wasnt hazardous. Fast forward after requesting air quality test it was found that the air wasnt good and more treating/retesting was done. Fast forward to 1 week after being in the house several floor boards have randomly popped up and there is now buckling throughout the floors. Which wasnt there before the work was done. First I was told this was a warranty issuenow Im being told its not a warranty issue and will not be addressed this is just a few of the frustrating issues dealing with Remedics and I could go on and own. All Im asking is for my floors to be in at the least the same condition they were in before the repairs were done vs them being in worse condition. Ive had an horrible experience not only with repairs but also with the pack out/in of my furniture. Bookshelf and TV was damaged which has yet to be resolved. Refrigerator was u plugged in the garage which caused not only food loss, but also the placenta from the birth of my son. Again no empathy has been shown for any of this. I would not recommend this company to anyone and I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with how Ive been treated and this entire process has been handledBusiness Response

************** did engage us to do repairs around 8/24/2023 the work was started 10/25/2023 and completed 11/08/2023. The scope of work comprised of sanding and staining her floor thru out the house with some drywall and painting included in the scope of work. The process of sanding and staining floors does produce a strong smell that ************** alerted us to. We immediately responded and set up equipment in her house to try to lessen the odor or alleviate it. We inspected the house on 12/11/23 at the request of *************. It was discovered at that time ************** had taken burning charcoal and placed it on her floor to try to get rid of the smell. This caused the floors to be scorched.
The General Manager of our company has been in touch with ************** to try to work with her on the contents that were damaged. The General Manager has told ************* that Remedics would pay for the shelf that was damaged. It was then mentioned that the floors had warped and popped up. The process of sanding and staining floors would not have caused this to happen. We told ************** that we would send in a third-party flooring inspector to inspect her floors. This appointment will take place 02-02-****. Once we have his report, we can update any action that is to be taken. Remedics believes that we have taken care of all of Ms. ******* request in a speedy manner and treated her with upmost respect. ************* also signed our COS (Certificate of Satisfaction) on January 16th, ****Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because I am not satisfied with the quality of work done or how the customer service has been handled. I cant count how much back and forth, being told different things by different people, etc I have gone through.
im assuming the person responded was not personally involved in my repairs until recently and has no clue to how terrible the customer service has been.
Until the buckling boards are resolved and my floors are in at least the same condition as they were in before the work was started, I will not be satisfied.
I have not received any compensation for the damaged bookshelf.
the 3rd party floor inspection is not scheduled until 2/9.Business Response

We had been informed that the inspector was going to be there 2/2/24. We will follow up with him after he does his inspection 2/9/24. I had stated to ************** that we would reimburse her for the shelf but would wait till we got the report from the flooring inspector. I have responded to ************** every time and am doing my best to come to a resolution that is fair to both parties.Initial Complaint

On February 14, 2023, this company was a contacted and came out to my home high and smelling like marijuana and individuals come out to hook up dehumidifier and fans and when the men came out, they also smelled like marijuana, arrived late, hooked all this up to one circuit in my kitchen where the water leak had been, blew my circuits to the point that I was not able to have power in certain outlets in my home and particularly this affected my circuits that give me wifi and so I was not able to work since I work remotely. I contacted this company, spoke w/*****************************, manager of Remedics and he was asking me to wait on a Friday afternoon (I work all weekend) to wait until Monday in order to get an electrician out I proceeded on my own to hire a company and fixed the issues, made notations in their invoice that Remedics had caused my fuses to blow and had actually "fried" my circuit box due to several equipment being run on one outlet without a surge protector. I have a paper trail of the emails, phone calls, etc. trying to resolve this issue with Remedics and yet, they sent me a bill for $1370 to be paid for their services neglecting to be responsible for my electricial issue which cost me $1250 to have repaired. Emails sent and minimal responses or I was told "*****" would reach out to me in March 2023. April now and I receive an aggressive phone call from a collection agency representative demanding I pay Remedics and my file had been sent to them and of course, they don't want to hear about the issues I had, but what is the worst is Remedics neglected to address this issue which was clearly their fault, took advantage of me as a customer who trusted them, lack of communication, then proceeded to turn my file over to a collection agency to get their money that should not have been owed since they caused expensive damage and the equipment had to be removed the next day due to the damage so the water issue was not fully corrected.Business Response

This is an unfortunate situation that sometimes happens in business. We were contacted to go out and dry out a home that had a leaking hot water heater. While drying the house, a circuit was damage and this caused ****************** to loose power in a room. She called to inform **, and we said we would handle it. We called ***************, but he was unable to go out that day, but was available the next day. ****************** said she would call an electrician, but we would not authorize them as we had not vetted the company. The electrician she called stated she needed to replace the entire panel, which was not the case and charged her $850.00. (This is why we only use our vendors). She called another electrician and they replaced the one circuit. ***************** became very agitated towards Remedics, and we felt this was unreasonable. The structure was dried to industry standards and we picked up the equipment. There was a balance left on the account and we tried many times to collect, but with no avail. It is with regret when we send a individual/company to collections.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:1. They did not make themselves available the next day It was a Friday when I called remedics and remedics did not respond until the following week on Tuesday and in fact *************** and said he would call me back on that Friday but didnt and even made the comment its Friday afternoon maam
2. They blew circuits that took out several rooms of my house and not one room I called several people because I was desperate to get power because I work from home with a high profile position and confidentiality is crucial so I cant just go anywhere to work
3. I attempted several times to resolve issue and didnt dodge paying anyone for services done correctly I have no issue with paying for work done correctly and not causing damage to someones home and avoiding taking care of it just because its Friday afternoon I was told over and over the manager would be back in touch with me and nothing and even hung up on me trying to get answers or told me management was not available and funny how now that this company has been reported to the BBB, they respond promptly Amazing!
