The lawn mower starts up strong but then dies out. On 8/9/24, I took it to Carolina Mower and told ***** about my concern. He was friendly, knowledgeable and he believed the lawn mower could be repaired. I paid $48.25 on this date and the balance ($47.97) at the time of pick up on 8/14. I started to mow my lawn on 8/16 and had the same problem. Because Carolina Mower had already closed for the day and is not opened on the weekend, I took the lawn mower back on Monday, 8/19. Per my request, the owner refused to give me a refund even though ***** stated that the technician should have just replaced the carburetor rather than what was he did ( replaced spark plug and air filter, flushed fuel system, cleaned carb assy, tested good). The owner informed me that he will replace carburetor and only charge for the cost of the part ($25.00). Again, he refused to give a refund as he stated that the technician has to get paid for the work already done. I picked up lawn mower on 8/22 and paid $26.80. I started mowing the lawn on 8/23 and the same thing happened again! The owner still refused to give refund. He stated that with the new carburetor, it should be working and he needed to check it out for himself. I did not leave the lawn mower; instead, I went to a different business and it didnt take long for the technician to figure out the problem at no charge. The starter or pull cord was not correctly placed. On 8/26, I only took the lawn mower back to Carolina Mower just to see if the technician there would also figure out the ********** addition to the $123.02 paid to Carolina Mower & Equipment, I had to rent a lawn mower to mow my lawn on 8/16 & 8/24 ($34.32 each time). I would have also saved in terms of my time and gas. I wonder what the cost would have been if the technician had gotten it right the first time? An appropriate resolution would be for the owner to at least refund the amount for the lawn mower rentals.Respectfully submitted.

You were only charged our minimum non refundable charge plus parts as needed for your repair. Remember this is your piece of equipment you commissioned us to repair under these terms with a warranty on our repair. We normally do not take in older mowers like yours for this reason. When you brought it back in the last time no issue was found with your mower.  it ran and cut as it should as you witnessed. So again for the last time we will tell you there are no refunds granted on repairs. That is why there is a warranty behind our work. Which is now expired on your mower so for future repairs on this unit please seek other repair shops. And yes. We installed a new carburetor on the second time in ($25.00) to eliminate any issues and was sold to you at our cost with no extra labor added.

I am rejecting this response because:   Thank you so much for your immediate response. Interestingly, the following was noted in the Disclaimer statement on the invoice: Your patronage is greatly appreciated and we will continue to make every effort to be worthy of the confidence you have placed in us. Your customer satisfaction is our #1 priority.  Furthermore, I went on the business webpage and no warranty information was noted or given to me in person. Since this is so important, I would appreciate it if you would provide a copy of the warranty information now.

If you read the warranty clause its pretty self explanatory...30 days on labor 90 days on parts and no warranty on fuel related repairs ...although we warrantied her complaint being fuel related ...so seems like we are done here talking and your little rejections.. She will not get a refund and never will. We worked on her unit at our minimum non refundable charge as stated in the first response We honored our warranty and her machine has no running issues last time she brought it in. Thank you and have a good day
