      1) On December 16, 2024 I paid $11,331.40 to NU Image Surgical for a future oral surgery.2) The surgery was performed on January 9th, 2025 (at ****************** location).3) I was informed on 1/09/2025 that the actual cost was $10,997.00, and a refund would be mailed to me.4) Despite multiple email communications (on Jan 13, Feb 1, Feb 7, Feb 11, Feb 18, Feb 24, Feb 25, Feb 28) and allegations that a) the refund check was mailed, b) the original check was "lost-in-the-mail", and c) a 2nd refund check was immediately mailed...this issue has not been resolved. Those emails are attached to this BBB complaint.5) I have receipts of the original payment, and all emails regarding the promised refund check of $334.40.6) After two alleged "failed mailings", I have offered to pick up a new check from their office, or give them wiring instructions to my bank account...but the company has not responded to these suggestions.

      I had dental surgery on 12/3/24 at Nu Image in ****, **. I paid $4,074.10. The dental insurance settled with Nu Image on 12/30/24 per Nu Image. The insurance settlement statement indicates I overpaid. Nu Image indicated the overpayment was $895.00. I called them the first week of January and they said they had the refund in their system and cut checks every other week. I inquired again about this refund on 2/3/25 during my follow up visit. They gave me no information but acknowledged that the refund was in their system. I had yet to receive this refund and that is the assistance that I am seeking.

      I am between residences in two different states. I Googled this office, they seemed to be legit. However, they do this very weird practice of pre charging $400 before services. I provided my dental insurance information and the receptionist said that it was accepted. I even proceeded with a consult in which the very kind assistant provided me a break down of my future procedure based on my dental insurance. I felt that I was very clear with understanding how their process works. However, I had a feeling that I was scammed. So as soon as I arrived home. I called my dental insurance and informed them that I may have been scammed. I let them know that this dental office said that they did not run my dental insurance and that a charge was for $400. The ****** ********** representative said this was not the correct procedure. She then placed me on hold and called the dental office. They informed her that they had NOT filed a claim yet, and that they would when they had time and they let the rep know the procedures codes. The *** agent then told me that my office visit was covered by 97% according to the codes that the receptionist provided her. So this office is a SCAM. There is NO need to waste people's time and money. The correct method would be to run my insurance before hand and then CHARGE me. I am due a refund of $397.50. So *** was I charged in the first place.

      I DO NOT recommend this practice. The dentist seemed to be kind and professional. However, if this is how they do business, why on earth would I want them working on my health?

      Wild business practices and I do NOT recommend them.
