      On approximately April of 2024 I started working with a company called Sunstates Security. I signed up for their health insurance that was offered through the company. The insurance was okay and was able to be used in the state of ********. About January of 2025, they switched health insurance plans. I chose the Vault Bronze option. Upon receiving this coverage, my medication was no longer covered by the insurance plan. Then I found out my health insurance doesn't work in the state of ******** because of something with the group number. I tried multiple times to reach out to this company because none of my medical bills were being paid. So now here it is June 2025 and we are switching to a different security company. I've been paying weekly, along with other individuals, for health insurance we can't use. Now they have started taking out deductions from our checks to ensure medical coverage through June. They did not ask for permission to do so and we still can't use the medical insurance.

      Thanks for bringing this concern to our attention. I have also left a voicemail for the complainant but have not heard back. Sunstates Security reached out to our medical insurance company who provided this summary:  

      Insurance *** only received two calls on the members behalf, both from providers. I have noted the date and summary of the call below. There have been no calls received from the members phone number on file, which Ive included in the screenshot below for reference. I am not sure what number the member is calling.

      Claims:
      *************has a total of six claims on file for the member:

      1 is currently out for repricing

      Regarding the members concern that the insurance doesnt work in ******** due to a group number, I ran a provider search and found 371 ************ Doctors within a 20-mile radius of the members zip code (*****), all of whom are in-network.

      Sunstates and the insurance company are more than willing to advocate and assist this member with their concerns. We believe most if not all of the outstanding charges will be taken care of in the near future. As such, her complaint to the BBB seems premature, and should be closed out.
