I paid for tint installation at Tint World in ******* on ****************** in January of 2024. I requested 35% *** as that is the darkest legally allowed in **. When my car was later inspected the tint measured at 28% VLT. I needed a window replaced due to a breakin and the original store is now closed. I asked the Tint World **** to install 35% tint and they matched the other windows at 28%. They stated I would have to pay to have all tint removed and pay again to have legal tint installed. I contacted corporate via phone and email and got no response for months. I finally spoke to a person on the phone and they said they would 'look into it.' I heard nothing from him for two weeks and when I finally got to speak with him again he stated I would have to pay but they might be able to discount the cost. I feel this is a breach of contract as I asked for legal tint installation to begin with and that is not what I was provided and Tint World Corporate will not make it right without cost to me. In my opinion Tint World should pay 100% for removal of the illegal tint and installation of the appropriate tint.

      Response:
This complaint is not for our company Tint World, LLC. We are the franchisor office and do not provide any services nor have we ever done any business with the customer. Each ********************** franchise location is individually owned and operated therefore; the customer must seek remedy at the location that the work was performed.
The customer has confused our company with a different business and as the customer stated in the response, the customer rendered services at ********************** in ******* on Falls of ************
Please advise the customer to deal directly with the business which has reopened, where the customer rendered services and remove this complaint from our file.

      Thank you,

This customer originally got work done at a different location than ours, Tint World *******. This location was owned by a different owner, who we are not affiliated with other than both being part of a national franchise. This owner closed his store, and the store has since reopened - so this customer can work directly with that location since that is where their original issue was. Furthermore, the customer is mentioning wanting legal tint - however they chose to get their windshield tinted which is entirely illegal, regardless of how dark the tint is. When the customer complained to the corporate offices, the corporate offices advised them that they would need to pay for the services. It sounds like their complaints are with the ************* location (which is not our business) and the Tint World Corporate offices (headquartered in *******, and again - not our business). These are separate businesses, and this customer has chosen to file a complaint from us when we got caught in the middle here. We did the work we were asked to do and were backed up by the corporate office. If this customer truly wants to pursue something, I advise they work with the ******* location (where the work was originally done) or Tint World Corporate. We have an A+ rating for a reason, and this is an unfair attack on our business. Thank you.
