**** sent me an estimate on November 5, 2024 (see attached) for for the installation of new decking and stamped concrete around the pool area. He quoted me $2340 for the stamped concrete but when the time came to do the work the price jumped to $9900. See attached estimate and the invoice he sent on 1/29/24. I told him I'd find someone elseto do the concrete, just finish the decking as that was too far off the estimate to justify. Once the decking was finished and he was paid in full, I noticed that he had used different/lower quality decking in a few spots on the back stairs. I suspect he though we wouldn't notice. Additionally, there were two steps with damaged boards. It seemed as if someone dropped something on them. I notified **** and as the attached texts show he acknowledged they used cheaper wood in the back because he ran out and agreed to replace the boards. Since then he hasnt responded to numerous texts and seems to be refusing to finish the job. (see attached texts) I've been more than patient. I'd appreciate any help in simply getting him to finish the job. I'm not looking for money, just completion of the decking work. I'm not holding him responsible for the price gauging he attempted to do after providing an estimate. 5x the estimate is just unacceptable. I just want him to finish the deck work which would take someone 30 minutes to do. Thank you.
