1 starDisappointing Experience Poor Platform and Zero Customer Support My experience with ********************** was extremely frustrating on multiple levels.1. Outdated Platform:The booking system is clunky and inefficient. Every time you schedule a session, you must manually re-enter your name, email, and phone number nothing is saved. You also cant book sessions in advance only your ********* can. This means you have to create two reminders: one for your upcoming session and another a few days later just to log in and try to book the next one (because availability is rarely open more than a week in advance). Even worse, the platform displayed my booking in Central Time while showing it to the ********* in Eastern Time, which caused my ********* to arrive an hour late.2. Unprofessional Therapist:My second ********* spent over 95% of both sessions talking about therapy theory, his own qualifications, and how many sessions I supposedly need. There were no real exercises, no personalization, and no practical therapy. I gave it two tries, thinking the first might have been an introduction, but the second session was just more of the same. This was not therapy it was a lecture.3. No Refund Policy and Poor Customer Service:Despite clearly explaining that no actual therapy occurred and providing context, Better Speech refused to refund or credit the sessions. Their policy seems to be: as long as you showed up to the session, they consider the service fulfilled regardless of its quality. Theres no guarantee of actual therapeutic value, only that the ********* is licensed.4. Online Speech Therapy is Ineffective:Even the good *********s face limitations. They try to guide you on tongue and mouth movement, but the video quality is too poor to demonstrate anything clearly. You can't see their tongue, and they can't see yours. In-person therapy is far more effective Id say at least 200% more and thats what Ill pursue moving forward.Review fromRoni O

Was promised practice materials during first week. Monday was a holiday so I waited until Wednesday. Left two messages to therapist on dashboard. I received a scanned page that I could hardly read (it wasn't placed flat on the scanner). Subpar. I cancelled the upcoming appointed. Wanted to cancel them all really but there was no clear way of doing that. Sent email an email regarding cancellation that to this day keeps getting bounced back as undeliverable. This was the address posted on their site. Set up a cancellation call. Requested refund for the rest of the classes. Agent said he would put in that request. Received an email with some song and dance about when you joined, you agree to pay, blah blah. You'll see it verbatim if you check the responses below. So I'm left with paying for sessions I did not have and services I did not receive. I rue the day I came across their website because I did not need this headache. I advise anyone to seek out a local therapist instead. Better Speech is flat out garbage. Will be on checking my cc statements carefully to see if any additional charges pop up.Better Speech

We understand that you were promised practice materials by your therapist after your first session and while you were given one, it was something that was hard for you to read. We are deeply sorry about that. Situations like that can be resolved with communication to the therapist so that another practice material which is clear and easy to read can be provided.
Following our Billing policy which you agreed upon sign-up, we do not issue refunds for unused sessions. A refund shall only be provided if our therapist failed to attend a scheduled session or provide services during the billing cycle. We have reached out to you at that time and have encouraged you to use the remaining sessions. We have given you ample time to complete the those sessions before the cancelation of your account which you have requested. With your services completely canceled, you were not further billed.
Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention and we appreciate your understanding. We are determined to use your feedback to continue to improve our service and ensure a better experience for all of our clients. Please let us know if we can help you in the future.

Scheduled a consultation, got around 5 emails and a phone text reminding me the time and **** link, that also read that if I weren't at the **** meeting, they would call me. This was my only day off, and I cleared out that time slot (10:45am) from my day. I clicked the **** link, waited....waited more....***** never started the meeting, not call me. I sent a couple of texts saying that he was late and to at least call, which he did not. Had an excuse that was vague, said it was technical difficulties, so I said why couldn't you call, but he said their phone was connected to the system. He emailed me about an hour later, and wanted to reschedule me for 3pm, but at that point I had a lot of things to do, and after reading all these reviews, I'm lucky he didn't call or open the **** meeting. Just wanted to share my experience. Hope I can find a reputable speech therapy service that takes insurance.Better Speech

Fraudulent! They bill for unscheduled services and refuse to refund you. They will give you the run around about not finding an account and say they can only look you up by name or email address. They will suddenly find your account after you threaten them. They still won't refund your money claiming the therapists bill them for the sessions and its not their fault. My son told his therapist he was canceling and thought that was all he needed to do. I didn't realize I was still getting billed every week for 6 months. They owe me $1500 and refuse to b refund it. I've filed a fraud claim with my bank in hopes I get some of my money back. You also can't close your account without scheduling an appointment. I fixed it so they bill a different card that is inactive from now on. I also created a throwaway email address just for them.Better Speech

We would like to express our sincere apology for any inconvenience this has caused you.
To better understand the situation, I investigated this issue you raised and found that our phone support representative had trouble retrieving your account due to incorrect spelling of the email address. Eventually, she figured it out and found your account.
You mentioned that your son told her Speech Therapist that he will be canceling the Speech Therapy subscription. Please understand that the process for canceling the account is by booking and completing a Therapy Review Call, not through verbal communication. We are required to review session notes and other treatment materials before being able to discharge you, hence the need to book and complete a Therapy Review call to complete your Cancelation request.
Without completing a Cancelation/Therapy Review Call, the billing on the account continues as scheduled according to your weekly Speech Therapy Subscription Plan. On 1/15/2023, you submitted the cancelation request and have completed the Therapy Review Call last 1/18/2023. When this was completed, the auto-renewal for your speech therapy subscription has been canceled and therefore there were no additional charges on your account from that date.
When you joined our subscription service, you agreed that it is your responsibility to schedule an appointment, and cancel or pause the subscription as needed (similar to any subscription service) at least 24 hours before the end of your billing cycle as stated in our Terms of Use. Your fee pays for unlimited access to our proprietary library of speech practices which you can use at any time during the billing cycle. A refund shall only be provided if our therapist failed to attend a scheduled session or provide services during your billing cycle.
Following our Billing policy, while we do not issue refunds for unused sessions, we are happy to further review your billing concern however, as further checked, this billing issue has been resolved via bank process and therefore resolved.
Again, we are sorry for any disconnect on the Cancelation process and we do appreciate the feedback regarding our processes. Please let us know if we can help you in the future.

Read the other reviews, and stay away. Shady business practices, greedy owners, and rushed services. They’ll take your money, provide subpar service and only give it back once you are vocal enough. Ever wonder why they don’t go through insurance? Because their service would be shut down in a heartbeat. SLPs might be “registered” in your state but they’re outsourced, young SLPs practicing remotely with barely any training.Better Speech
