My wife shipped a package back to a company for a replacement. She went to the UPS store and paid them the shipping fee of $12.61. After a week the UPS Store called her to pick up the package as UPS was in litigation with the company and will not ship to them. My wife picked up the package and asked for her refund. The clerk said she will have to talk to the store manager who was not there. My wife went back and spoke with the store manager who refused to return the money. The fact they are in litigation with someone is not our issue, we paid for a service that they accepted and charged for, then they failed to complete the service. I understand its only $12.61 but its the principle of it. To me its a theft.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/23/2022

Customer brought in a package to be returned to a business.
We shipped to the business and UPS returned it back. When we contacted UPS to
ask why it was returned UPS told us that on the company’s return information it
states, “Do not return using UPS.” UPS stated they are in litigation with this
company. As The UPS Store is a privately owned Franchise and is separate entity
from UPS , the customer isn’t eligible for refund.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: Its irrelevant if they are a private contractor or not, they are a representative of UPS. My wife did not go online, she called the company who told her to send the items back. If UPS doesn't send to a specific company it should have popped up in their system and they shouldn't of accepted the package. As said previously we paid for a service that they ultimately chose not to provide, and we expect a refund. Its only 12 dollars but its the principle, this is a theft!

    Sincerely,
