      I am a repeat customer of ******************************************* and Air. I had a heat pump put in a house 15 years old. The young man gave me the Quote and he said yes ****, we are going to replace all that old ductwork. Price was less than $5,000. That was 2010. I dont know if the company changed hands but I talked to the President, a ***************** from NY ******************** (in 2022) he was rude and foul mouthed yelling and screaming on the phone. I told him hey, your guts did not replace the ductwork!! **** said that is seperate. Did you want that done? I said YES just like my old house ! I told him that the Estimate was under $5,000 and included replacing the ductwork on a 2-story house. My new house price Estimate was also under $5,000 but I am elderly and I told them I cant go outside to see the work because of recent surgery. So they worked until completed and they left. About 11 months later my handyman said oh you didnt replace the ductwork? I said yes I did. He said no come look. So I looked and it still had do it yourself flexhose which was on the ground in some parts and it looked like they bumped into it and created a separation in the connecting hole. I then called the President of the company. And told him all that snd I am a repeat customer and I paid cash every time. He didnt care he was arrogant and yelling at times. He argued in circles. He said THE DUCTWORK IS SEPARATE! I said oh really? Did the company change hands?? He said NO. But I think the young punk from ******** with a foul mouth must have taken over but its still in the ******, I gather. Ten thousand dollars?? The ********** unit from Carrier is under $5,000 and add ten thousand dollars for ductwork?! I said I was not interested because he is trying to take advantage of me because I am elderly. I told him NO THANK YOU and I hung up. I found a Christian ****** business who came over gave me an estimate for heat pump plus ductwork LESS THAN $5,000 including ductwork. God bless the honest man, *********.

      ****************, My name is ***************************, I am the owner of Rutherford Heating & Air and I have always been the owner. I have never talked to a homeowner in a disrespectful or in a rude way. I pride myself on being extremely customer service oriented. That is why we have been named Best of the Best in Rutherford County for the past 6 years. We are also commercial contractor of the year last year. My employees are always taught to be extremely ethical. Rutherford Heating & Air always gives a written proposal when we do the free estimate.  It spells out exactly what you will be getting for your money. I reviewed the proposal that was given to you, and it states reconnect to the existing duct work. You accepted the proposal and then we sent you the contract. It also states we would change out your old heating & air equipment and reconnect to the existing ductwork. You signed the contract stating that you understood we were only changing the units not the duct work. I am very sorry that you feel for $5000 that we would changeout the equipment and provide you all new duct work but that estimate would have been substantially higher if we replaced the ductwork also. We always state in our estimate and our contract exactly what you will be getting so there is no miscommunication of what you will be receiving. I deeply apologize if you feel that you did not understand the quote and contract, we gave you and you signed but I assure you we are very ethical company that has been in business for 26 years that has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and we don't purposely mislead customers. If I can help you in any way, please feel free to ask but after reviewing the documents you received exactly what we sold to you, but I apologize if you feel you have been treated unfairly.
