1 starThese people will s**** you. They dont know what they are doing or how to manage a project. They screwed my mother who has dementia and should have never entered into business with these lowlifes. They sent me a bill without doing any work and demanded that I pay up or they would put a lean on the property for not doing anything. A bunch of crooks, steer clear and warn your friends. Its hard enough to get good work done without crooks like this in the mix.Review fromSara H

As a former project manager myself, I know the most important aspect of any project is managing client expectations. I hired FSDF for a very major renovation on my home. While I am mostly pleased with the final result and happy to finally be back in my home, there were many problems, delays, lack of communication and sloppy work. While I understand delays are inevitable and some are not under control of the contractor, the project '*******' failed to take these delays into account in the initial timeline he sent, which caused me to have extremely high expectations of progress and deadlines. Vendor delays and sloppy workmanship that had to be re-done, lost shipments of material that had to be re-ordered or broken items that were not checked upon receipt and also had to be re-ordered, a vendor change that caused significant plumbing delays, a countertop vendor who failed to perform agreed-upon work and had to be replaced which took a full month, all added up to a longer than expected project completion, and caused me considerable distress. Better communication over the entire course of the project would have eased a lot of my concerns. Also, FSDF failed to deliver on some specific items they had promised me during the design process: a specific lazy-***** cabinet for my kitchen, and a linear drain in my primary shower. Ultimately, the delays and lack of communication made this project a frustrating experience.Full Spectrum Design Firm, LLC

I would like to ask, how could we have known about the delays ahead of time? We gave a timeframe that should have worked for your project but unfortunately, several things happened that no one could have expected. For instance, the main electrical conduit was discovered under your master jacuzzi tub when we did demo. As a contractor, I am not going forward until I have permitting do the necessary electrical inspection of conduit and panel box, located directly behind the proposed shower wall. Unfortunately, and hopefully now you understand, Brunswick County permitting and inspections is a slow process which slowed the project down over 3 weeks before we got the clear to move forward. Unfortunately, you have moved to one of, if not, the fastest growing counties in **. Permitting, inspections, and the construction services industry are stressed and can't keep up. Yes, we did change plumbing contractors, due to the original plumber not wanting to work with Brunswick County permitting because of the run around he was getting and conflicting information between two inspectors. He could not get a clear understanding of what he should do. Also, they would not give the original plumber a heads up when an inspector was headed to the house to inspect. Inspectors can not go into a house that has furniture in it. They can only go in to empty or new construction homes. So, the inspector would not advise us a time to meet and would ultimately go to the house and fail the plumbing because no one was there to answer the door. And charged us a $75 reinspection fee everytime he failed us So, we had to get the inspector's supervisor involved to get the plumging inspections completed. The original plumber lives in ********** in ****************** and had never worked in ****************. He said he would never work in ********* again. This did cause a delay in the plumbing by a week or so due to the new plumbing team getting attached to the permit and us on their schedule. Another unfortunate and totally mind-blowing delay was due to the countertop Company stealing the deposit and your kitchen sink. How could anyone foresee such things like this happening at the very beginning of the project when trying to give an estimated timeline. You were given a general timeline of completion based on previous projects we have completed compared to the scope of work inside of your project. NO ONE anticipates a company to steal over $8,000 of deposits and materials on a job. I am ultimately out of that $8000. Have you ever considered the distress that has caused me? NO ONE anticipated the main electrical coming into your house to run through a shower. I was not willing to take a chance with my license with the electrical situation until I had answers from **************** permitting and a written statement from permitting and you. Call it what you will, a delay, an oversight on planning. Whatever you'd like. I call it covering my ****. Never in my years of doing this work have I been micromanaged by a client like I was in this project. Yes, we had some cabinet handles disappear, which were found in a cabinet drawer after the fact, a broken bath sink, a lateral drain hidden in the garage that was overlooked and a glass globe broken by a painter. We asked in the beginning to have as little of your items at the house as possible because we needed to store materials and products. Because the porch and garage were full of your stuff, it made it difficult to bring materials to the project and store them out of the work zone, so some items did disappear and some were found after-the-fact. We have all receipts and order dates of all items purchased for your project to prove that we did infact have them onsite. You say we had sloppy work, but you could not accept the fact that a lot of items you wanted fixed immediately were in-fact punchlist items that were to be done at the end. The cabinet installer, who was referred by the countertop company that stole the deposit, did the initial cabinet install and did have several trim issues and misplaced handles that had to be fixed. I had my custom cabinet team come and fix everyone of the issues. You questioned every move we made. Asked obvious-answer questions about the majority of your project. As an example, are you going to clean the drywall mud that got on a couple of doors before we paint them? Why yes, we will. You couldn't understand that the messy work had to be done, and yes, it was going to make a mess, and yes we would naturally clean the mess after we were finished with that portion of the job. Every day there were 4-6 emails that were pages long that my office staff had to answer. Hours answering obivious answer questions every day caused an unnecessary strain on my office staff. Calls and texts after hours, on weekends. I had to tell you on more than one occasion to stop with your snarky texts. ********, ******* and I would be in business meetings or client meetings together and if you called one of us and couldn't get us, you would call everyone elses phone plus the office to track us down. You were told that we would call you back once we finished our meeting and if it wasn't in the timeframe you wanted, you were calling right back. To what ***** should we have resorted to fix VENDOR delays? We have no control over any other business or subcontractor's schedules. Regarding the lazy ***** cabinet, I had two custom cabinet makers explain to me, and I explained to you, that the style cabinet you wanted was difficult, would not be ideal in our climate and altering the cabinet would void the warranty on your cabinets. You were NOT charged for the lazy *****. You ultimately conceded to keeping the original lazy ***** cabinet, but have now decided to slam us for it. The linear drain was flat out our mistake and I own up to that. The installer failed to locate the linear drain, that was in the garage, and took it upon himself to buy and install a standard circular drain without contacting the office first. We offered to replace the circular drain with the correct linear drain, but you said, no, that was ok. The linear drain was found in the garage, after-the-fact. At the very end of the project when we were plumbing your kitchen sink, we were unaware that the water filtration system you ordered required a separate faucet. You plainly told me that it would attach to your sink faucet. This required my counter top team and my plumbing team to make additional trips to your project. My office was able to turn that rescheduling around in two days to get the plumber and granite installer back to your house to finish. Almost unheard of in this fast paced building area. No appreciation for that either. You have a beautiful remodeled house. Not once did we ever get a thank you for the wonderful work we did. Instead, we were belittled on a daily basis. If anyone would like to see pictures of the work we did on this project, just give Full Spectrum Design Firm a call. ************.Review fromTracey N

5 starsWonderful to work with. We lived out of state during our renovations and the staff always communicated progress and setbacks so our deadline could be achieved. They made it clear what we could expect, what they needed from us and any impacts to our budget. They took our vision and made it into our dream home.Review fromLynn D

Very unprofessional and rude. My small remodeling project took four months to complete. Weeks went by without any work done, never any calls with updates or project status. I had to ask multiple times for a breakdown of charges. Before finally getting the breakdown, the co owner left me a voicemail threatening to take me to court.Full Spectrum Design Firm, LLC

While we are very saddened you feel your experience was not five star with our company, we cannot control how often a client changes their mind through a project. What should have been a simple remodel project did turn into months work for my company at no additional charge, to make the changes to your project as you continued to change your mind. After our accounting department had to prove to you that you updated your own drawing and resubmitted it to us and then claimed we used the wrong plans. After proving to you in several emails and phone calls that we did in fact have, and went by exactly what you submitted. You caused confusion for yourself and our team. We provided a beautiful build out for your living room and provided the services you contracted us for. Communication does go both ways, but as a learning ****** from this experience, we have learned to put more procedures in place to help offset miscommunication and to help aide the client in making more timely decisions. We thank you for your review and hope you well in your endeavors.
