  I am writing this review to express deep concern regarding the treatment of an 8U baseball team coached entirely by minority coaches, who were recently dismissed from the Carolina Vipers Baseball organization without notice or due process. This decision came directly on the heels of a single parent complaint regarding an incident which occurred 7 weeks prior to the dismissal, and the lack of communication or transparent, objective investigation into the incident raises troubling questions about fairness, transparency, and potential racial bias within the organization.The volunteer coaches of this team were dedicated, experienced, and had a strong rapport with their players. They invested significant time and energy into creating a positive environment for young athletes. The sole parent complaint was made by a white man to the all-white male Board of the Carolina Vipers complaining that one of the coaches yelled at his son during a tournament and he did not like the "culture" of the team. His son was given the opportunity to stay on the team but chose to move to another team within the organization. The coaches on his prior team subsequently made changes to their coaching approach and even received praise on their demeanor from other teams and the tournament director in tournaments following the incident; however, the aggrieved parent continued to push the organization to fully disband the team for weeks following the incident, which the Board ultimately agreed to do, abruptly cutting the season 4 weeks short for a group of ten 8 year olds. Until Carolina Vipers can provide a transparent explanation for their actions and demonstrate a commitment to equitable treatment for all teams and coaches, I cannot in good conscience recommend them to any family seeking an inclusive, accountable youth baseball environment.
