*************************** represents herself of a breeder of Highlander kittens. She also does business as Maplewood Polys). This is a rather new breed of cat established in 2008. Once the kittens were seen by the vet and paperwork was sent to me for their vaccination history and health certificate checks and live animal shipment documents from the airline, I realized there was a problem. These kittens were represented to be Highlander kittens ( Alleged ****** ******** is a Highlander with curly ears, polydactyl x4 and unknown tail. Alleged ***** ****** appears to be a seal point cat with a stubby tail). The original vet and airline paperwork said Highlander/******** Domestic and was dated 29 FEB 2024. Another set of the exact forms were also dated 29 FEB 2024 and 05 MAR 2024 has the kittens listed as American Shorthair. The breeder (***************************) vaccinated the kittens herself and sent their documentation with the breed listed as Highlander/Domestic. I inquired after receiving that kittens from the airlines and *************************** responded "Caveat emptor". The chat that we had through ******** Messenger no longer allows me to respond. *************************** misrepresented the breed of these cats as Highlander White ****** Tabby. I would like 75% of the money I spent to purchase these kittens (paid $500 each) returned and for DNA testing to be paid for by *************************** to prove the breed of these kittens. The paperwork signed by the vet should also be verified as there are some distinct differences in the signature. It appears that information was added to the forms after the veterinarian signed it on 29 FEB 2024. The Airway Bill number changed after that date, but it is listed in a different color ink. *************************** claimed she had to make another trip to the vet's office to get the Airway Bill number updated. The breed of the kittens changed again. I am both a Disabled and Retired Veteran of the Army and USAF and currently a DoD Civilian working for the ************* Air Force.

    Business Response

    Date: 04/20/2024

Sorry for the late response I just received this correspondence today. Call me if you have questions. ************. The vet listed the kittens as American shorthair because there was NO option for Highlander. I have a statement from the vet (that the complainant had chosen) and The ************* of ************ The ************* of *********** has verified that this may be the case because the Highlander cat is a new breed and company that the vet used for the health certificate has to add Highlander in their list of breeds. The complainant sprung this flight on me with very little notice and I wasnt able to contact the health certificate company prior to the kittens vet visit. I have offered the complainant $1,000.00 in refund and it will be sent to her as soon as I can rehome the kittens. She has accepted this offer. I am attaching links to the kittens parents DNA. I will have their sisters DNA results in 5-6 weeks.

Also attached is our conversation. She is threatening me with a lawsuit. I am doing my best to meet her demands. Also I did write the airway bill in at the vet after the vet signed it (with the vets permission) because the complainant had changed the airway bill and flight several times previously and the vet is an hour drive away. She had fully been made aware of all of this information but has refused to listen to me. I did tell her if she did a DNA on the kittens she would see their breed is American domestic and Highlander. She was well aware why the vet listed them as American shorthair before she made the final payment. She has also made a complaint through Venmo and ***** has ruled in my favor. She agreed that $200 was a nonrefundable deposit but I am still sending the $1,000 when I am able. She asked me what vet I used and I told her walkertown vet. She chose NOT to use my vet and she choose a cheaper vet. I told her I DO NOT provide transportation and she agreed to it. She made a ***** decision, did not review the documents I sent her and now I am the one who is paying for it. We begin talking on December 10 and i did not ship the kittens until March 8 so she had more than enough time to review the information I provided to her. I have been completely open and honest with her. She is not and did not take the time to review the information I provided to her. Even though I feel that this is not my error I am still refunding $1000/$200 of that is a nonrefundable deposit. I feel that I am being more than fair. My lawyer will be attending to this issue
