April 2, 2025 I sent the a certified, return receipt letter to the MasTec ** on HWY 421. As of today 4/30/25 it has been returned by the post office , refused by the company. The letter was requesting restitution for sever damage to our property during supervision of the employee GM. Included in the letter were pictures of the damage, the CFPUA employee standing in a 6 foot hole and the water flooding our property. Excerpts of the letter follow: I am writing in regard to the damage that was done to our property during your crews installation of the fiber optic cable on 11/20/24. I have enclosed time stamped photos of the event. During the install, the supervisor on site ** stated that access was need to our back yard. He insisted there were easement rights inside our fence. He assured us that the work would be unnoticeable and there would be no damage to the fence, yard or garden. FYI **** had installed cable on the outside of our fence wks earlier with no ******** 2pm I returned home from work to see water running down our street. Origin - the side yard where the work was being done. No one in a supervisory role was present. I asked what had happened and no one had an answer, I also asked if the H2O company had been called and was told no. I immediately called and they arrived 10 minutes later. By that time the water had created a 6 foot deep hole at our double fence gate, eroded our lawn and required a backhoe of dirt to fill the cavern. We waited until now to contact the company as we wanted to see how things settled. The gate functionality is destroyed. The fence post integrity is compromised in adjacent posts as the fence is bowing out. It is a nonfunctional eyesore. We had the builder who installed the fence give an estimate to repair and asked to be made whole. As the company has refused to claim the letter , my next recourse is the BBB. I hope you are able to assist us. Thank you for your time. ***** ******* ************
