I received a $50 charge 7 months after I missed an appointment due to a cancelled flight. I called from the airport to notify them of the issue and asked to reschedule the appointment while I was going to be in town. (They knew I had recently relocated to ***** and was in need of my medications because it was discussed when the appointment was made). I never received a call back to reschedule appointment. (This was in May 22). 12/22 I received a charge of $50 on my debit from Delta Behavioral. I left a voicemail with their billing department inquiring about the charge. After a week of not hearing back from them, I called again and again and finally received a call back. She informed me she didnt return my calls because she turned the issue over to ****************** (because) hes the provider that charged me and he shouldve called me back the previous week. Fast forward 6 weeks and I finally heard from ***************** whom made it clear he had no intentions of working with me on the matter. He also said his billing department never informed him that I had an issue with the situation. He also said I shouldve received 2 or 3 letters from them asking for payment. I also inquired with my wife (who stills lives at our home in Wilmington) if she potentially missed forwarding me any mail. I have zero evidence of any attempts from Delta Behavioral to contact me (by mail or telephone). Either their billing department or ***************** is not telling me the truth in attempting to resolve this issue. All I needed was proper medical attention and they dont seem the least bit concerned. Id be willing to pay the $50 fee for missing an appointment had they at least made an effort to return my call and hopefully see me while I was in town. I didnt even receive an acknowledgment of my cancellation. I find this charge unfair, unprofessional and unethical.
