We purchased a used 2009 ***** Odyssey handicap, wheelchair accessible van as is for my wheelchair bound mother. We asked about a carfax report and were shown a report that showed no accidents and only 1 owner. Recently, we had to take the van into a ***** dealership for a steering problem. The ***** mechanic advised that the front driver strut broke due to rust. The whole undercarriage was completely rusted out. Not repairable or drivable. While inspecting the undercarriage we discovered that it had been painted over, seemingly to disguise the rust. We decided to pay for our own carfax report and discovered that our van, had been in a moderate accident and had 4 owners, which is different from what we were shown at the time of purchase. The business' website states they only sell rust free southern vehicles and do a 131-point mechanical inspection and must pass North Carolina's rigorous safety and emissions inspection before resale. We do not believe that this vehicle would legally pass a thorough inspection as described on the website. In addition the website is advertising a 2009 ***** odyssey van using photographs of the exact van that we purchased, but with a different vin# We paid for the carfax report on this advertised van and discovered that it had 1 owner and no accidents. Our theory is that this is the report we were initially showed. We believe this qualifies as deception at best and illegal bait and switch at worse. Ive started looking at goggle reviews and have seen at least 3 other victims with very similar situations. We believe this dealership is taking advantage of not only the handicap, but also financially disadvantaged people who can only afford older, less expensive vehicles, knowing they probably dont have the means physically, mentally, or financially to fight back. We had to sell two of our vehicles to purchase this van and are now completely without transportation. We have contacted the dealership/owner several times, with no response

On 8/23/2024 Vantastic Mobility cashed our check for $39,500 and arranged to ship a wheelchair accessible van to western NY. In early September the van arrived damaged. The shipper damaged the truck. The truck is finally in the shop now but has not yet been able to be used. Our disabled daughter is still without transportation 3 months later. Renting a wheelchair accessible van is very expensive. Vantastic Mobility (**** and ****) were contacted immediately when the truck arrived and shown the damage. We attempted to get insurance information from them but never did. It appears they shipped the truck with a shipper who did not have cargo insurance -despite telling us all shippers must have insurance. Our insurance needs this information to pursue recouping their cost. Attempts to get more information from them were futile. They did not respond to calls or emails. At this point, I would like to have the insurance information from Vantastic Mobility so I can give it to my agent. Vantastic Mobility should not be profiting for delivering a truck that is still not able to be used 3 months after delivery and is not in the condition promised in the contract. And they should not have been shipping a truck without ensuring insurance coverage. I feel that other potential buyers should be aware of the business practices with Vantastic Mobility. If you need more information I can be contacted at ************ and *******************
