On 3/12/2025 I spoke with the owner (**** *****) and the follow-up to that call on 3/18/2025 about an ongoing issue with the mini split they installed for our home back in 2017. This call was with regards to the unit not heating/cooling properly & the diagnostic testing or lack thereof that was performed by (*****) on at least 3 different *********** there was a fourth service call by a different service tech (***) also made. After speaking with ****** on several occasions about this issue she assured me that a thorough diagnostic test will be performed to assess the issue(s). On every occasion ***** assured us there was no leak but it wasnt until *** came by with a leak detector (which ***** never used) at a later date that we realized that the proper testing for leaks was NEVER performed by *****. I didnt understand at the time why ***** would add refrigerant (that he didnt notate on the work order by the way) but yet say theres no leak. ***** lifted the control panel to clean blower ************* filters but he didnt clean the head. It wasnt until we called another company to come out several days later to perform another diagnostic that we learned how dirty the head was (pictures were taken & provided) & that we had a coil leak in the wall unit & another coil leak in the air handler by which ***** NEVER checked on any of his visits. I was charged & payed over $350.00 dollars on the first visit & charged another $283.00 on the subsequent visit by *** which was written off by the company as I was calling the home office about the poor customer ********************** by *****. After thoroughly explaining the situation to the owner NO accountability was done & he also stated that as far as hes concerned were even being that 4 trips were made & he lost money which is laughableyou lost money because of your lack of *************************** I would advise everyone to stay FAR FAR away from this company & any & ALL companies that conduct business in this manner.

On January 9, 2025 ***** went to service the mini split wall mounted evaporator section for low air flow. He cleaned the blower wheel and checked the refrigerant operating pressure.  The refrigerant pressures read 360 psi discharge pressure which was normal for the indoor and outdoor temperature.  Then on January 16, 2025, he checked the remote control and insulated the refrigerant lines where some insulation was deteriorated.  If he added refrigerant, it was miniscule because he did not list on the invoice or charge for it.  The invoice 194137(see attached) for $352.03 was written and paid.

Then on February *******, *** went to leak check the system after a call that it was not working right.  *** indicated the system has a refrigerant leak and suggested a more thorough leak check.  The time for *** was not billed as we were trying to be fair to the customer.  The temperatures were extremely cold during the months of December January and *************************** has been serving the area since 1971.  This is an unfortunate situation.  You can see we tried to resolve the issue by not charging for the additional trips.

      Sincerely,

      H. **** *****

I am rejecting this response because: the service(s) by ***** were not complete nor thorough therefore causing unnecessary delays in resolving the issue(s) & further diagnostic fees being paid to other companies because of Reedys negligence.

I am only requesting the that the additional diagnostics fees by the companies listed in this communication be reimbursed being that Reedys failed to perform a thorough diagnostic test as promised to me by ****** (Employee of Reedys).  There is also another diagnostic charge that I couldnt upload to this system for unknown reason(s) totaling the amount of $129.00.  If you would like that documentation please let me know how I can get that additional info to you.

      Complaint ID ****************, 2025

We received a call from the ****** residence requesting a service on a minisplit system, specifically to check turbo function and remote control. Our technician went out 1/9/25 and set the turbo function on for the wall mount evaporator. He also cleaned blower wheel to help with air speed and volume. He checked refrigerant pressure and it read 360psi which met the manufacturer specification for the outdoor temperature.  This pressure also indicated there was adequate Freon in the system. He replaced the deteriorated lineset insulation and checked remote control. This is exactly what the customer had asked for and invoice was written and paid.

We returned and checked system a couple of times at no charge and *** on 2/20/25 stated we need to return and check for a refrigerant leak. To my knowledge the system has been working the entire time. I think the service was fair as we did exactly what the customer requested.

The customer made the decision to call another company to check for leaks. Reedys already had a scheduled time to come and do that when Mr. ****** cancelled. The other companys expense is his responsibility.

I am rejecting this response because: ***** (Reedys) did NOT perform a full diagnostic on my system as requested.  ***** came out at least 3 times that I recall & at no point did he perform the thorough testing needed.  Instead he stated to me & my mother on 2 occasions that a leak check couldnt be performed because of the temp outside.  At the time we took him at his word.  It wasnt until we hired 2 other companies that we realized that the information ***** provided about the leak check was NOT true.  The owner (**** *****) refused to accept responsibility as a company for ****** negligence.  The additional money paid for 2 assessments was money that couldve been used in part to fix the problem(s).  Our trust in Reedys has suffered irreparable harm as it pertains to future business & all Im requesting is that Reedys compensate me for the additional testing that had to be done because of the ongoing issues that werent  properly addressed.

On 9/7/22 a repair guy worked on our AC/heat unit. We expected a full and complete repair but instead we were informed that it was a temporary fix ( he only recharged the unit but explained it would leak out from those faulty "factory flare fittings"). We did not request a temporary fix but wanted a full complete fix. The repairman explained he would have to redo everything he had just done to replace the fittings and he would speak to the owner about charging us only after he completed the repairs. Instead I've been billed $326.35 and the unit is NOT WORKING. I've contacted the owner by phone and US mail that I was still awaiting the repair and would not pay for the same work twice. We need the fittings replaced and the unit recharged. The owner did respond with a letter stating he would only repair our unit after we pay the first bill possibly with interest. THE UNIT WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE OWNER STILL WANTS TO BE PAID. It needs the leak fixed first and than to be recharged as it should have been done in the first place. I just want my unit repaired correctly paying only the bill for that repair. I don't feel I owe anything for a temporary recharge that I am presently being billed for.

The system was installed 3/1/2018 for ***** ****** which is ***'s brother. We had one warranty call in September of 2018 and replaced a control board.

the next call on this system was in September 2022 which we responded to and is the invoice Mr. ****** refuses to pay.  When our Technician was there

and found the system low on refrigerant and added two pounds of R410A .  He suggested the leak could be at a factory flare fitting however the leak can be

anywhere in the system after four years of operation and not adding any refrigerant.  He also suggested a thorough leak search which involves more time and

money.  Mr. ****** does not want to pay anything it seems. The system had a 1 year labor warranty from start date of 3/1/2018. Reedys is willing to cancel the

charge of $326.35 on invoice #****** dated 9/7/22 and suggest Mr. ****** find another company to service his system.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and I accept it.

It isn't that I'm not willing to pay for repairs. But in this case there was no repair. It was only a recharge with the repairman telling me the fittings needed to be replaced and the system recharged again. Why NO REPAIR was made in the first place is the issue. The leak should have been fixed before recharging the system. It still isn't working as the freon quickly leaked out as the repairman said it would. I called for a repair but did not get a repair.

So yes I do accept the offer not to owe anything on a wasted trip that did not repair the problem and as suggested will look for another more reliable company to service our needs. Thank you for being fair and not charging when no repair was made.
