On 11/8/22, State of the Art Moving & Delivery completed debris removal request. Josh, the owner shared they offer electrical and sheetrock installation thru a subcontractor, named Cesar. Josh & Cesar presented themselves well & decided to move forward. This complaint is not directed at Cesar in any way. This is solely directed at Josh & his unethical business practices. The attached 4 receipts show payment made directly to Cesar except for one receipt dated 12/23/23 for $1300. 12/23/23, Josh came onsite to pick up $1300 cash so that he could arrange trailer rental for trash pickup within 3 days since Cesar was near completion. We “trusted” Josh would be ethical with the funds & follow thru with trash pickup. We were never clear on what the remaining $1000 would be allocated to since $300 was apparently the trash pickup fee. Cesar and I tried many times to connect with Josh to follow up on the trash removal & clarification of the $1000 & received no response. The $1000 should have gone to Cesar since he was shorted on the original quoted amount, he would receive. We learned that Josh became ill, but his business was still operational & accepting new jobs which can be verified via his Facebook. Between January 2023 and March 22, 2023, Josh’s business phone was being managed by his mom, Randy & Antonio and despite texting and requesting a follow up a response was never given. On March 24th, Josh responded to an email that I sent and still did not provide clarification. Essentially, Josh has not completed the job by (1) completing trash removal, (2) providing a clarification to me for the $1000 as well as (3) unethically stealing funds from his subcontractor without his awareness. We have since paid a contractor to remove the trash since it has been several months of dealing with unethical business practices on behalf of Josh and his company. I am requesting a refund of $400 that we paid another contractor to complete Josh’s job as well as clarification of the $1000.
