      I contacted this company on 3/12/25 to perform an annual inspection theyve done for over 10yrs.I called to inquire about the invoice so I could pay it ****. He said he was a small ************ would email ****, upon receiving the invoice it doubled in price. It went from $200.63 to $556.40 I emailed the company president ***** ****** to ask what changed on this service, he never responded.They installed this fire sound protection equipment and have been servicing it since installation.The inspections have been one inspector 1.5 hrs labor, now 2/ inspectors 4 hrs labor. They havent added any new equipment to my system.

      Carolina Safety & Sound **** was contacted by this customer to complete an annual ******* fire alarm inspection that was 7 to 9 months overdue and out of the compliance with the local Fire Marshal. Carolina Safety & Sound *** scheduled and completed this task on an urgent basis in order to help the customer. ********************************************* & ********************** **** did respond to the one email received by the customer after receiving the invoice. Past inspections were completed by one man and not two as this years inspection was completed by two men resulting in a higher total in order to get the inspection completed promptly for our customer. After the complaint, Carolina Safety & Sound **** reached out by telephone to discuss and explain the complaint and resolution. He was advised the inspection completed was in compliance for a full year.  In order to resolve the customers complaint the check was returned to the customer for a full refund for the completion of this NFPA-72 fire alarm inspection, in which the customer would have still been held responsible for and the work initially requested by the customer.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and I accept it.  

       

      Carolina Safety & Sound **** completed the annual NFPA-72 fire alarm inspection on March 12, 2025, for this year.  Last years inspection was completed on February 15, 2024.  I have attached a copy of this year and last years invoice.  From the invoices given to me by Carolina Safety & Sound you can see that the NFPA-72 fire alarm inspection was not 7 to 9 months overdue.  Furthermore, as stated in the response past inspections were completed by 1 man, and as you can see in last years invoice the inspection was completed in 1.5 hours.  If two men were needed as he claims to get the inspection completed faster this year, I would assume that 2 men would complete the inspection in the time instead of more than double the time. I spoke to the owner on May 5th when he called me to complain about me contacting the BBB.  He was extremely rude.  I tried to explain to him that I simply wanted him to explain why the cost of the service doubled this year.  He told me to never call him again and that he was sending me the check back.  I insisted that he keep the check since the work was completed, all I needed was an explanation.  He never provided an explanation, and he ultimately returned the check.
