This is a debt collector that I am not denying I owed money to but they were garnishing my wages. I tried to set up a payment plan they let me make payment then started garnishing 3/4 of my paycheck for 2 paycheck's in a row leaving me with not enough money to pay my bills. I was setting up a payment plan because I knew that was how much I could afford to pay them. This is my slow time of year I get paid hourly and I am not getting many hours but apparently when being set up on wage garnishments they dont care about that they just take what they want. Anyway the last amount I owed was $552.85 and they went ahead and took $779.50 so I called them and try to argue my concern and they hung up on me because I am upset and I think I should be for good reason.

According to our records, the consumer making the complaint has not offered DCI Credit Services a payment plan to resolve his past-due debt.  He contacted our office as a result of a judgment garnishment that *** had to obtain against him in order to collect a debt. The MT Court system, Judgment case number is: CV-************. DCI Credit Services is a collection agency, our job is to collect past-due debts for clients that provide necessary goods and services that people rely on. We must keep full records of our collection activity and there is absolutely no history that this individual ever responded or offered a plan for repayment. Therefore, we have no choice but to seek a judicial remedy if our client is to be paid back. This is exactly what happened in this case. We do in fact set up and offer payment arrangements to people that are willing to repay their accounts. However, they do need to respond to our calls and letters and make those arrangements with us!  *** does not owe this consumer a refund for the funds that he factually owes to our client and affirmed in the judgment that has been awarded.

Finally, we think the better business bureau better start investigating the transmission of these complaints much closer, as this is not a legitimate complaint.

I was turned into this collection agency for a medical bill. They garnished my two separate bank accounts. The amount was only supposed to be $2523.27. They garnished this amount twice for a total of $5046.54, double the garnishment amount. One garnishment was May 1st the second was May 3rd. I have repeatedly called and emailed and they do not respond. I want my funds returned immediately as they double-dipped twice the court-ordered amount. This is not legal nor ethical. I request my funds returned immediately as this violates the FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT. I want my illegally garnished funds returned immediately as I'm experiencing financial harm due to this.

According to DCI's records along with the records of our attorney, the amount received from the garnishment was $2,523.27, not the amount described by the consumer. There was no other amount taken by means of court order or otherwise as described by the consumer.  In addition, because this is a legal process conducted through the Courts and our attorney, it would not be possible to garnish the consumers bank account twice as described by the consumer. .  BBB needs to do better at understanding what the legal process is before qualifying consumer complaints.

DCI Collections has been calling me for a debt that I do not owe. I've paid the company that I bought the product from, through PayPal, and then the company ghosted me so I took out a dispute with PayPal to which the original company responded and still did not send me the product. I received a refund but three months later the company said the product was ready and they had mailed it to me. The product arrived and it was WRONG. I've explained this to DCI and they keep calling! I've tried to send the product back and the company won't take it back. DCI is harassing me at my work! I've told them to stop contact with me but they said I own a business which means they can legally keep harassing me. Threatened me with court and just kept talking over me and wouldn't listen. If this isn't a case for bad collection practice I don't know what is.

I currently have a garnishment against me and I do not dispute the Medical bill which it is for. My irretation with this garnishment that DCI has is that they take $250 out of my pay checks every 2 weeks and I have contacted them several time requesting that they cap this amount at $150 due to trying to provide for 2 children. I get same run around, I am told to talk to so and so but no one calls me back. They send new paper work always dated several weeks prior to me recieving it and I only live 3 hrs away from them. I have not signed any papers agreeing to any garnishments nor have I filled out any income verification paperwork. They request my minor childrens social security numbers, and I will not give them this information. I should not have to retain a lawyer to get them to listen, but apparenly thats what it might take. I just want them to agree to smaller amounts out of my pay checks and they dont give a **** as long as they are taking what ever they feel is best for them.

DCI CREDIT SERVICES lawfully obtained a judgment against this consumer through North Dakota State Court over 4 years ago on 12/5/20**, case # **-20**-CV-02702. We do not take legal action lightly, it  was taken as a result of the consumer not paying the amount voluntarily over these years.  Once a judgment is obtained, creditors have a right  to garnish a persons wages to recover the amount due. The amount being garnished is set under State Law - DCI as  with any  creditor does not get to choose that amount.  At the end of the day, the garnishment is being conducted lawfully through our attorney. The consumer can resolve the debt anytime they choose, they just need to remit the full payment to our office. Once the total amount due is paid, we will happily stop the garnishment. Thank you.
