This was an out-of-state real estate transaction and the title company, ************* Abstract, was chosen by the seller due to convenient location to him. ****** ******* was the closing agent. She asked for an extension on the closing date even before receiving the abstract. I emailed asking for an update twice in 5 weeks and received one sentence replies that contained no actual information. The original closing date came and went with no update and no reason why the title work wasnt finished. The extension date was approaching and concerned nothing was being done I emailed my concerns to the owner of FM Title, ******* *********. ****** led the owner to believe she had explained things many times to me, which she had not. I had never received one explanation for the delay or if there was any progress. She stated I had told her I would only accept overnighted documents instead of email, which also wasnt true. The buyer stated ****** had told him the reason for the delay was the file got lost. When ****** FINALLY got the paperwork finished, she sent the closing documents for me to sign overnight **** then *** lost them for 5 days. I only had one night to review them and then had the difficulty of finding an available notary public in a small town on a Saturday morning. I had several questions about the documents and received a phone call from ****** in which she was very condescending. Once the documents were returned to her I was never notified that she had received them or that the closing had taken place. A month after the closing I had never received any copy of the closing papers and I ended up having to beg for those. While I did receive the proceeds, I have little confidence that everything got filed or done correctly and certainly could have done without the 6 weeks of stress. The owner, ******* *********, was very dismissive about the entire ordeal and certainly had no concern about the poor conduct of his employee.

First,I was certainly not dismissive of your emails or any of your communication.  Id be happy to discuss this issue youve had with our Valley City office.

I understand you were dissatisfied with the process by which ****** communicated regarding this file.  This is the first complaint Ive had of ****** who has worked at our Valley City office for 8 years.  We have had issues in the past with documents not being recordable due to printing errors on the receiving end so I did not think a request to *** the documents was unreasonable.  Now, it sounds as if you did not request that to be done.  Either way, what is the issue youd like addressed and what do you think would be a reasonable resolution of your complaint?

It seemed to me that your questions to ****** regarding the closing documents were after hours and she merely was calling because she was at one of her childrens events and it was easier to talk through with you.  She then tried to call you to talk through them?

As for delays in the process, that could be due to a variety of factors and Im certainly willing to work through those issues.

Call me with if youd like to address any of this:  ************.

    Thanks,
    *******
