ISO of direction on where to go from here. I rented with KM holdings/ The Hampton Apartments for a year and it was the worst year ever. The lanlord wrote me up for simple things. Like- mistakenly leaving my garage open after getting two ******* off to school in the morning. Not shoveling by my garage after it had snowed. Like literally just snowed. I work 8-5 and was more worried about getting to work in the bad weather. A ground squirrel snuck in my house and I was cited for that? I called her multiple times and was told pest control would not come look for it and that I had to find it before she would call them. I ended up finding it and getting it out on my own. I requested a formal lease renewal and she sent it to me 3 days before my lease ended. I was unsure if I was going to get my lease renewed as she had given me so many citations. So I looked elsewhere for a place for my kids and I. I was able to finally get into something after she had reported to different places I applied to that I had 4 citations. I have been requesting my security deposit back and she finally told me that it was mailed last week. I check the mail and instead of a refund I got a bill. Just wanting anyones input on what I should do from here. Not only did she keep the 875 deposit. She sent me a bill for 861. I have attached the apartment photos of when I left and the bill. Kind of frustrated on what next steps I can take as I dont want this to be something that prohibits me from moving elsewhere. Cleaning this apartment for 800 is absurd.
