    We booked a room at the Baymont by ******* in Fargo ND for the night of 12 June 2024 while traveling home from our vacation. I checked in and when I got to the room I immediately began having breathing problems. The room had a overwhelming odor. I went to the desk and told the clerk I could not stay there. The clerk showed me another room and my wife and I also turned down this room. The hotel was filthy and disgusting. The carpet in the hall was wet and littered with ice cubes and smelled moldy and damp as did the whole hotel.. The clerk said no problem just leave the key card at the desk. We continued traveling and ended up staying at a comfort inn in ************ **. Baymont billed my credit card even though I did not stay. When I called the manager he said he was offended by my saying the hotel was filthy and disgusting. He referred me back to the booking company and when they checked with him he said we stayed and do not refund my money. I called ******* customer service and when they investigated he told them we stayed also. Instead of apologizing for the horrible conditions in his hotel he is trying to get even because I insulted his hotel. I have records that show we checked in the night of June 12 2024 at the comfort inn in ************ about 80 miles away.
