I contacted the sales team at Vision **** in ******** about potentially trading in my pickup. I initially worked with one of their sales team members to exchange information about the vehicle and after a day or so, they have given me an offer of $38,000 for my vehicle. I had agreed to this offer, and had let them know we planned to drop the vehicle off in approximately 2.5 weeks, but would not add any other additional miles in the meantime. (The dealership was 6 hours or so away from us and I work full time. I was also planning to visit the area in a few weeks to see family and i appreciated that they were flexible with me)The weeks heading up, I would check in with the sales member I was working with and made sure everything was still on track, and they'd let me know everything was good to go. The day came to officially drop off the vehicle and sign paperwork. When we arrived, the sales team test drove the pickup and made sure everything was in good shape, and it was. We then headed to sign paperwork and finalize the deal. After signing ALL the documents, we headed out the door to leave. While getting in our vehicle, the sales manager, *****, had ran outside to stop us and said they can't honor the deal anymore. ***** had said that things had just changed on their end a few minutes ago, and they could no longer offer $38,000 but would offer $33,000 instead. This was absolutely shocking, as we had already signed paperwork and had finalized the deal, he let us know he wouldn't send through any funds to pay for the pickup they just signed for and can't "consciously make an offer that he wouldn't make money on".Ultimately after trying to reason with him, he offered to pay for $300 in gas for our troubles of bringing 2 vehicles 12 hours round trip but still would not follow through with the deal that was made WEEKS ahead of time. Absolutely disappointing that managers like him are there! Certainly setting a poor example for anyone learning the position.
