      The ************************* installed a 2-ton Amana ** unit on 07/29/2014. Specifically, on 07/15/2022, the unit wasnt shutting off at all and the lines inside the house were frozen again. The temperature in the house was rising, so I turned the fan on to thaw out the unit, hoping it would start working. We are gone all day at work, but we do have pets in the house. The unit had been serviced by your company on 05/13/2022 and we received a second opinion and recharge on the unit on 06/29/2022. I called the ************************* and the earliest anyone could service the unit was 07/19/2022. It was a very hot weekend and the ** ran continuously, rising as high as 82 degrees in the house. I called ******************* in ****** again on 07/18/2022, and he said he could come out, sometime this morning, then abruptly hung up. I waited 2 hours, losing time from work and decided to contact another company, who arrived in 20 minutes. I have asked *** and your technicians about the 10-year Amana warranty we were given during purchase, only to be told, some units just have to be serviced regularly. Our ** runs for about 4 months out of the year, but it has to be serviced once, twice and even three times per year. I am always charged for freon, even though no leaks have been found. We took some videos of the unit working and it turned on and off 3 times in 1 minute. The unit makes a horrible sound when it's running. I have spoken to Amana numerous times, and our *******/Daikin warranty doesnt expire until 07/29/2024. The warranty is a part for part exchange and I was told that unless the technician deems a replacement necessary, there is nothing we can do. After multiple failed attempts to get the unit either repaired correctly or replaced by the warranty, we were left no option, but to have the unit replaced with a different brand on 07/26/2022. We are requesting a refund of the service calls plus the new unit, totaling $5741.97.

      Business Response

      Date: 10/06/2022

      Thank you for writing to us concerning your service experience with Agri Industries.  I apologize if we did not live up to your expectations; however, our staff performed to the best of their abilities and acted with your best interest in mind at all times.

      I am informed that each time we left your home the A/C unit was working, it is quite unlucky that those repairs did not result in long term continued operation.

      Unfortunately we are unable to provide you a refund for our successful service calls, your in kind costs, nor a purchase you made with another vendor.

      I sincerely hope that your new air conditioner will provide you with a comfortable home for years to come.

      Respectfully,

      Customer Answer

       I am rejecting this response because:

      ****,

      We appreciate your response to our letter.  As cited in our letter, this was not a minor inconvenience.  This was an ongoing problem, spanning over multiple *******.  I dont know how you define successful service calls, but a service call that lasts approximately 6 weeks, then 2 weeks after that is clearly a failed service call.  The continuous recharging of the unit did work until the next service call, resulting in loss of use and time from work.  I repeatedly asked about the warranty that expires on 07/29/2024, that was provided at the time of purchase, due to the repetitive service calls.  The ****** office would not pursue the warranty and just continued to take our money on failed service calls.

      This may have been just unlucky for us or a faulty unit, which should have justified the use of the warranty.  As stated in the original letter, we attempted to use the warranty with *****, and were told the warranty is for technicians only.  Your technicians failed to utilize the warranty and exchange/replace the parts that were faulty.  If your technicians worked with our best interest in mind, they would have provided a solution to the problem, rather than sticking a temporary band aid on it.

      We are requesting a refund of the failed unit and service calls.  The loss time at work, loss of use of the unit and increased electric bill, due to the unit not shutting off, have all been additional costs.  In our best interest, a refund is appropriate.  This should have been handled professionally and appropriately; however, we were given the run-around.  We were left with no option, but to replace the unit.  We would have been just as happy to have our Amana unit work, as intended, for at least the decade that it is covered by the warranty.

      Please respond via email, so we can resolve this quickly.

      Respectfully,

      ****** and ********************;
