    I am a student at Bellevue University and applied for Financial aid prior to school starting via FAFSA. I was told my FAFSA was complete and my financial aid was processing when first enrolling. I was given an advisor named Katie who instructed me after a week of waiting that I needed to submit documents that could be uploaded to a portal. I spent $10 to get the documents notarized and uploaded them to the portal. I was told 7 business days before my financial aid would be processed and a package provided. ETA 5/6. Almost ONE MONTH passed with no answer and my advisor was switched since I had started school to ****. I have communicated with **** on numerous occasions for updates and continuously received the same “our financial aid system is going through a transition, and we don’t have an update.” Once an update was received, June 2nd, I was notified I needed to snail mail the document I originally uploaded so they can complete my package. I paid $31 to 1-2 day ship the document as I was advised to do so, so my financial aid package can be awarded. At this point it has been 10 days with no package awarded and I am now being told all the documents that have been submitted need to be resubmitted at our expense because my ID was uploaded instead of snail mailed, which I was never instructed to do. I have been waiting to receive this aid to ensure I have the necessary software and up to date computer necessary to complete my degree and have felt I have been dragged through the mud of no answers, no one knowing their role, and having delay after delay. This is compromising my success as a student and I would like my financial aid to be packaged and awarded so I can get the necessary tools to be successful in school. I am going on almost 2 weeks in class and have felt like no one has been supportive and that I will never be awarded the financial aid that I qualify for and deserve.

    Bellevue University is committed to meeting the needs of its
    students. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) protects the
    privacy of students' educational records. The individual making this complaint
    has not authorized Bellevue University to release educational information to
    the Better Business Bureau. However, Bellevue University has communicated with
    the student and is working to resolve internally.
