On February 12th, 2025, I had an appointment with the owner of [Grooming Business Name] for my 130-pound long-haired German Shepherd, Duke. He’s been groomed there before and prefers consistency with his groomers. His coat grows very long (6–7 inches), and while I understand double-coated breeds shouldn’t be shaved, I’ve always requested just a light trim of the scraggly ends—something every other groomer has done without issue for his nine years.

Previously, the owner resisted trimming Duke’s coat, citing that it was “too time-consuming.” After much reluctance, she did a minimal trim, but it was so insignificant that I essentially paid for nothing.

This time, I arrived at 10 a.m. (later due to weather, but they had also been delayed). The moment we walked in, the owner’s demeanor was unwelcoming. When I asked about the trim, she immediately claimed it was "unsafe" and refused to take off more than half an inch—an amount too small to make any difference. I asked for an explanation, even suggesting that if I had been wrong in requesting a 2-inch trim, I’d like to understand why. Rather than providing any reasoning, she bluntly stated she “did not want to do it” and suggested I find another groomer.

Trying to compromise, I offered to skip the trim and proceed with the standard groom, but she still refused. She then turned to an employee and asked, "You don’t want to do this groom, right?"—prompting them to agree. She then returned and told me to leave, threatening to call the police. Her tone was unprofessional, her voice quivering as if on the verge of an outburst.

Her behavior showed a complete lack of professionalism, customer service, and business integrity. It’s clear she does not want to handle large dogs, yet instead of being upfront, she chose to be dismissive and combative. Given her conduct, it’s no surprise she is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau. A truly weak display from someone in the service industry.
