Vin Specific Enterprise- (VSE)
1. On March 25, 2024, the I purchased a VSE catch can for my 3.0 Duramax from Run VSE.
2. The product was shipped on June 4, 2024, and installed on my truck during the summer of 2024.
3. The catch can was reinstalled on a new truck in December 2024, with the can being emptied between installations.
My Claims
4. VSE, via their Facebook page (******), advertised that the catch can would never freeze, even when full, and would not void any vehicle warranty. This advertisement was posted on March 15, 2024.
5. VSE also claimed a 10,000-mile drain interval for the catch can.
These claims on their page pushed me to purchase.
Incident
6. On January 20th, my truck, with 4,700 miles on it, was left overnight in Western Michigan, resulting in the catch can freezing.
7. Upon starting the engine, the frozen catch can caused a pressure buildup, leading to the rear main seal being pushed out of the engine.
8. My Wife was driving the vehicle at the time, resulting in the vehicle losing all oil and becoming stranded three hours from home.
9. The truck was taken to ******* ********* in Claire, MI, where the warranty was denied due to the installation and failure of the catch can.
Attempts to Resolve
10. I have made multiple attempts to contact VSE for support, but received no assistance. I was then ghosted. I have copies of all communication with them and also communication they had with one of their former dealers about me and a "fix" to correct their design issues.
11. I have screenshots of VSE's claims, which were later deleted from their Facebook page.
12. VSE has since designed a fix for the catch can to prevent the failure experienced by the Claimant.
Damages
13. I incurred repair costs totaling $3,173.18 and the cost of the catch can was $360.14, amounting to a total of $3,533.32.
Relief Sought
14. I am requesting full reimbursement for the repair costs and the cost of the catch can, totaling $3,533.32.

“!!! Important!!! Drain the catch can at a MINIMUM of every 5,000 miles AND on
your oil changes. The sight glass serves as a reference to the fluid level
inside the can which will be a mixture of oil and emulsified water / oil.
Failure to drain the catch can before it is full will result in a P04DB as well
as engine seal issues. Colder weather will require draining more often due to
dew point changes occurring inside the catch can. !!! “ is clearly listed on
