      We moved June 3, filed a claim with the BBM June 6 - was told via email that I’d be contacted in 5-7 business days - finally received a response today (June 20) after sending a follow up email on June 19. We’ve used them in the past and had received great care and very timely moves.
      During the move - they stood around in the front yard, smoked cigarettes in the driveway, and played ring toss in the backyard.
      When they did not fit everything in a single truckload they appeared to be shocked when we said that they would be making a second trip. Had they needed to take beds apart they did not come prepared with a charged tools to do so.
      On way to the new house they stopped at the gas station and arrived 30 minutes after the homeowner with no communication given.
      Yes, all of our stuff was moved but at a literal snails pace. The biggest concern is that if the estimate is 8 hours - are their employees told to fill the 8 hours? Because as soon as they realized that we were going to make them take a second trip for all the things they didn’t put in the truck - they quite literally sped their way from house to house proving they can move at a much faster pace than previously shown.
      In the response I received today, via email and not a phone call to discuss these concerns like I had requested, I was told that their goal is to try and complete moves under the estimated time. This was not evident for our move - especially when we saw how fast these three men could move the last 3 hours.
      I was given a 15 minute credit for “stopping at the gas station” - acknowledging exactly what they had done. After contacting customer service I have been informed that we will be credited back an hour. While it is minimal compensation for wasted time - it’s the fact that we hired people to make moving day easy yet they made it more stressful.
      The lack of motivation from the employees, and the lack of communication and care from customer service is concerning.

      We understand your concerns about the crew's conduct and the time taken for the move. We have already addressed the issue of the gas station stop by crediting you 15 minutes. Additionally, we have processed a one-hour refund as compensation for the crew's behavior in your backyard, which we understand you have accepted.

      We want to clarify that while your initial estimate was for 8 hours, the refund effectively reduces your billed time to less than the original estimate. We acknowledge that the crew should not have been using their phones or playing around, and we are actively addressing this internal matter with their supervisor to ensure it does not happen again.

      Extremely disappointed in the professionalism of this company. I had a move scheduled on Sunday between 8 and 9 am. After I hadn't received a call that the truck was 15-20 minutes out by 9am I called the main number. It said that the office was closed and moves aren't scheduled on Sunday so I should call back tomorrow when their office is open, mind you I've had this moved for a few weeks at this point so if it being a Sunday was a problem that mistake should have been caught a while ago. I attempted to leave a voicemail but their voicemail box was full. When I finally heard from someone they said they had staffing issues and couldn't get in contact with anyone, leaving me stranded on my moving day. They made little to no attempt to reschedule me and resolve the situation. While their prices may be cheaper than their competitors you are paying less for a reason. Extremely unprofessional all around.

      Please accept our sincerest apologies for the significant inconvenience and stress caused by the non-arrival of your moving crew on Sunday. This is certainly not reflective of our company standards, and we do not tolerate such unprofessionalism from our employees. We have addressed the situation with the assigned crew.
      Regarding communication, our shop manager, Juston, contacted you on Sunday to inform you of the issue, and you indicated that you would call us the following day, June 9th, to reschedule. ?You left him a voicemail letting him know that you would like to get rescheduled. As ?the reservations center did not receive a call?, we sent you a text message at 2:37 PM on Monday, June 9th, offering to reschedule your move with a 10% discount to compensate for the inconvenience. You replied at 3:24 PM that you would be seeking assistance elsewhere due to the perceived lack of response.
      We want to clarify that we did attempt to communicate with you promptly to resolve the situation, both with Juston's call on Sunday and our follow-up text on Monday after not hearing from you as agreed.
      We understand your frustration regarding the Sunday scheduling. While our office is typically closed on Sundays, our moving services were indeed available. We were piloting Sunday moves to assess customer demand, and we regret that our voicemail message did not reflect this updated availability. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
      We also want to assure you that we are committed to transparent pricing. While we regularly review competitor rates, our aim is to provide clear and upfront costs, with any potential additional fees, aside from our fuel surcharge, clearly communicated.
      We genuinely value the opportunity to regain your trust. If you have not yet moved, we would be happy to schedule your move as early as tomorrow, Thursday, June 12th. We also have availability on Friday and Saturday. We sincerely hope you will consider giving us a second chance to provide you with the high-quality moving services you expect and deserve.       Stay away from using Black Belt Movers! BBM came out, took pictures, did a walk through and gave us a bid. They knew everything we had to move and the bid showed that. We understood the need to pay to have it moved. I signed the contract. The day of the move, BBM did not call us on the way as they said they would. Most of the movers were late. My husband had been sick and informed the foreman of the crew this. The foreman did not act like this was a big deal. Several of the movers went through a walk-through the house with me. Apparently they had not seen the pictures for the bid as they were acting surprised at the amount of stuff we had. After the walk-through, my daughter came inside and said the movers left. They did not talk to me to tell me they were leaving. They just up and left! I received a call about 10 minutes after the movers left from someone from the office. They told us because my husband had been sick they could not do the move. It was against company policy. He did not try to problem solve with me or offer a solution. I kept asking him questions on trying to figure out a solution and he was extremely rude. His answer to every question was “Company policy says we cannot go into a house when there has been someone sick” He did NOTHING to help the situation, relieve my stress, or to work with us in any capacity. My husband was not even there for the move. The movers had gone into the house to do the walk-through and had no problem plugging their phones into our outlets to charge…so much for company policy. One of the workers forgot their phone so they had to come back into my house again after they left. So they had already gone against this fake company policy several times by this point. There is not one thing in the contract that talks about black belt movers not being able to come into the house when someone is sick. So this company policy that kept being referred to it was nowhere in the contract. There is NO WAY I would ever recommend BBM!!!

      We take COVID very seriously and when your husband told one of our crew members not to shake his hand because he had COVID, we sent our crew home so they were not at further risk of getting infected as well. If one of our crew members tests positive for COVID, there is a high potential that we would have to close that shop down until they were able to thoroughly clean it and the crew's test negative. Closing the shop would mean that we have to cancel moves until they can reopen. Our crews also have a family that they need to protect. We follow CDC guidelines and check for updates regularly, please see the link below. We did let you know that we would still do your move on another date but we had to make sure it was safe for the crew to return. You declined to reschedule, which is your right.

      As far as the other issues, we will let the shop know to talk to the crew and use this for future training for our crews.

      We hope that your husband is feeling better and you are enjoying your new home!

      Had a move scheduled 3/1/2024; 2 guys showed up 30 mins before initial time; They slow-walked the whole time knowing I am paying for this service; playing music that was not appropriate at all; stopping at the gas station and telling me they would take it off of my bill and they never did; emailed them about this issue and it has been 5 days and still have not heard back; have used them before and was very pleased; but at this time i will never use them again. $700 for four and a half hours when me and my child did it in 3 hours; doesn't add up; the guy who answers the phone is very rude as well

When we take the initial call for any issue related to a move, we require 5-7 business days to allow the shop to look into the issue and determine the resolution. We will pass the message along about your review. We will also email you the direct email to the shop that did your move. The reservations center does not handle the resolutions for moving issues.       September of 2022 they moved all of our big, heavy, furniture, and a lot of boxes to a brand new house. There was a lot of damage to walls and some items were damaged. Also, somehow 1 of 2 identical lamps that are "special" to me disappeared. I moved the lamps myself in my car so I know they were in the new house. I had 1 smart light bulb in each of the lamps. There is no reason I would have taken out 1 of the smart bulbs from 1 of the lamps. Those smart bulbs were never used in any other lamps and they were purchased specifically for those lamps. We found 1 of the smart bulbs in the basement by itself without the lamp. I have the other lamp and both smart light bulbs. Someone from somewhere stole 1 of the lamps and left 1 of the smart light bulbs. Nobody else had the opportunity to steal the lamp. When there are about 10 movers and only 2 of us and a lot going on it would be easy for someone to steal something. We are also missing other smart lights and a Google Nest Hub.

      When the original claim was submitted on September 20, 2022, there was no mention of the smart light bulbs, lamps or a Google Nest Hub. The items that you brought to our attention at that time were discussed between our shop managers, Ruth and yourself. They did discuss the waivers that you had signed for some of the items and had someone come out and repair the wall damage. With your move being over 15 months ago and the lamps and bulbs were not mentioned at the time, we are unable to open a claim for them. Typically, there is a 30-day window after the move date to submit a claim. All other items were discussed and the claim was closed.

      have left 3 boxes voicemails with no response.
      I had all my boxes labeled with colored duct tape and each room was labeled with a paper to correspond with the color of duct tape *name* was very rude. *Name* was giving a lot of attitude so finally I said you know what just put it all in the garage and I'll do it later because I didn't want to deal with his attitude anymore and ramming stuff into my house in front of me.
      Also, when I made my original appointment I had reserved two trucks for the day and when someone came out to my house I told them they could call me and nobody ever did and they said that one truck would be enough for our entire house. Therefore, we didn't get everything moved that was supposed to get moved, which put us in a bind to get stuff out by 5:00 p.m....with only two guys and a trailer that was already packed. And they had been working on moving stuff since 5pm the day before.
      Also - in response to your email from earlier today saying my brother was there and I wasn't there to talk to anyone, you said I just needed an adult there and if there were any questions you would call me
      I didn't know about monster totes until YOU left YOUR folder
      I tried calling you to make sure you knew what all needing to go and to let you know that the washer and dryer would not go - NO ANSWER
      Everything in the house was going - nothing was in the shed, but my husband had to get the extra stuff your team left because your person didn't estimate right or return my call
      So, it is not my fault your "expert" who decided I needed only 1 truck instead of 2 (which I originally booked) couldn't account for my shit that was in the drawers and closets and cabinets and closets and basement.
      I think you are trying to say I AM SORRY for all the damages, extra work we caused and THANK YOU for putting all your boxes in the garage, bringing a lot of the heavy stuff upstairs for us and disassembling things.
