On October 4,2024 my husband was transported from ******* Hospital to our home in Alexandria VA. The transport company is MMT,
Midwest Medical Transport. They were advised by the hospital the patient could not sit up or stand.
When MMT got to our residence they took my husband out of the van and laid him on the ground on a streacher. I immediately told them to get him off the ground. The 2 employees struggled to get my husband up a flight of stairs to his bed. When they got to his bedroom they put the dirty stretcher on his bed. This is unacceptable in any circumstance and the 2 employees were incompetent. I reported the incident to patient relations at ******* hospital who advised me they would get in touch with MMT.
    I have heard nothing
I talked to ****** at MMT on October 17th. I gave her all the above information and told her I felt I should not have to pay the bill I received of $71.99. Said she would refer to her supervisor and get back to me. Nothing. I have received a past due bill. November 20th,2024 I spoke with Ashley who said I have to pay the bill there is nothing she can do. I then spoke to her supervisor ***** who said she will call me back. I do not think I should have to pay .

    We
have investigated the complaint #********. While the complainant indicated this
is a billing dispute, the patient was billed accurately for the services
provided by our team. The process and stretcher we used to transport this
patient was done correctly to ensure his safety. We are educating our team
members to better communicate with our patients and their families to ensure
they understand our equipment and how we will transport the patient. As a one
time courtesy and in support of our commitment to providing excellent customer
service, we are going to waive the patient’s balance in the amount of $71.99.
If you have any further questions, please email *********@mmtamb.com.
