Apex came to our home to fix our heat on March 3rd. We asked them to check the entire system, they checked our furnace and noticed that the A-coil was clogged with pet hair. This was the reasoning for no air throughout the house. Apex technician immediately called in 2 supervisors to come to our house and talk to me about the steps that needed to be taken. Apex then proceeded to try to sell us $18,000 worth of product. A technician then went out to our unit outside alone to look at it and came back inside and said nothing of concern. We declined and said we were going to get a second opinion. We then called Standard heating and air and they came and cleaned the A-coil and we had heat within the hour. Standard charged me $300.00 to fix this. Apex tried to charge me $235.00 to fix nothing. My wife called and disputed this and they brought it down to the service fee of $97.00. Fast forward to March 28th when the temperatures went to the upper 80's and my AC tried to kick on and we notice no cold air was coming out. on April 1st, we called ******** heating and air. ******** found a capacitor wire was left off by whoever was inside last. To our knowledge this would have been Apex on the March 3rd visit when the technician went out to the unit alone while I was inside trying to be sold 18k worth of product. This wire then arced when the AC tried to kick on and blew the entire compressor. The ******** technician made sure to use a key and scratch the top by where and what wire was on there and took photos. The picture we then received from APEX after we saw them on our cameras where they came to our home uninvited and let themselves into our fenced in back yard where the unit was and took a photo for their investigation showed that the wires were in different locations. Their claim was that it was hooked up wrong and that's why it did not work. But the original technician on March 3rd said nothing of this when we went out to look at the unit alone.
