Bought a used car from them with a BLOWN MOTOR! (One of the cylinders was trashed) They claimed the sound I was hearing from the motor was normal. (They said it was loud injectors because of the missing engine cover.) Bought it on that premise. Took it to another shop, and they s****d me the borescope of how bad it was.

      Business Response

      Date: 07/26/2024

First of all, I take great pride in our family-owned business.  We have been in business for over 75 years and this, personally, is my first ever experience in dealing with a matter such as this in my 15 years of employment.

We took the BMW in trade and due to it being an import vehicle, we immediately decided to send to the auction.  We waited for a Kansas title to arrive before doing so.  The only thing we did to the BMW was install a battery.  Mr. **** called inquiring about the BMW.  Our Sales Professional that took the call informed him then that this vehicle was intended to go to the auction.  Mr. **** elected to come test drive the vehicle and made the trip from Lincoln to do so.  After test driving for a substantial amount of time, the check engine light was on.  We had our Service Advisor investigate a possible noise from under the hood.  Our Service Advisor informed Mr. **** it could potentially be injectors, ****ver we did not know exactly because it was going to the auction and the only thing, we had done is install a battery in the vehicle.  The check engine light s****d a voltage code due to the new battery.

Mr. **** asked us to take $1,000 off the listed price, which we agreed to do.  From that point on we reminded Mr. **** that once he leaves with the vehicle it is his and it is being sold "As-Is".  Attached is the "As-is" form as well as a "We-Owe/You-Owe" form signed by Mr. **** on June 29th.

Mr. **** then called me on July 9th or 10th (I do not remember exactly which day) letting me know about the situation.  I informed him that I would visit with our Service Department and Sales staff.  After several conversations with Mr. ****, I offered to pay $2,000 of the supposed repair, simply in good faith, once myself or our team confirmed the repair was necessary and completed to a professional level.  We did not know how the vehicle had been driven or treated since leaving the dealership on day of purchase.  I told Mr. **** to please let me know how he wanted to proceed.  I never heard back from him.  Then on Saturday, July 13, he s****d up on the corner of HWY 281 and Stolley Park Road in front of our dealership holding a sign stating, "I regret buying from Roe Buick".  The $2,000 good faith offer is no longer available nor any other type of assistance.
