    If I could give a zero I would. Recently moved from STL to the Omaha area and have been looking for a new store to purchase all of our reptile goods ( we have about 20 reptiles ). We have been ordering product online for a couple months because we didn't quite know of any places just yet. Saw the reviews and decided to give Blue Dog a shot. My wife goes in to get 1000 crickets (which is our typical order.) Didn't really pay attention throughout the purchase due to our two kids bugging her the whole time, she gets on the way home and notices the text receipt say $268. She came home crying because she didn't realize it would be that much. I looked on several websites where we can order 1000 crickets at a time and each site was around $30 to $50. I immediately called the owner who told me there's nothing they can do and I can't even return them (still in box less than an hour later) because it's "policy". You may have "policies" but you lack customer service. You just ripped off a 25 year old woman who cares more about reptiles than anyone I've ever met. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Save your bank because EVERYTHING is overpriced.

    I'm sorry you feel this way. As previously stated; we have our crickets clearly marked at the front of the store as priced at $3 a dozen. Your wife came in asking for 1000 crickets. That is 83 dozen crickets which took time to put together...we don't normally do such great numbers but gladly accepted since we just received a shipment. Since we do not typically do bulk items we don't have pricing for them. We understand that there are numerous places you can get bull pricing shipped directly to your home. However; with the cost of everything increased our prices have had to reflect that. We understand that you are upset, however she was clearly given the price at check out and again when she paid. We are a family ran store, and have kids of our own so we understand that they can be overwhelming at times, but we have the return policy on live animals clearly posted in two spots because even if they are in the same bag, they could have died, been crushed, fed off or been exposed to any numerous things that could effect our in store feeders and pets. If you were familiar with the store then you would know we pride ourselves on the care and health of our animals and feeders and take it seriously. We simply can not take the risk. We understand if you want to go someplace and encourage you to do so and understand why you are upset, and had there been an error on our part, then yes; of course we would address and correct it... however; being this was a mistake outside of ourselves there is nothing we can or will do, as i had said speaking with you. We feel bad that you experienced the stress but can't apologize for our policy's. we hope you and your family have a better evening. BDA MANAGEMENT
