I scheduled with Chet's Moving Services to move my belongings from my old apartment to my small apartment. He said it would only take a couple of hours. The 2 men show up and almost automatically started complaining because I was moving from main level to second floor. They slowly began moving things out into the truck, leaving several things behind. As we are leaving for the new apartment, I was informed that they were stopping for snacks and drinks and would meet me there. I am being charged hourly. Once they arrive at the new apartment, they slowly start bringing things in. Most of the time they were carrying one box per trip. I had signs posted where things were to go. The older guy totally ignored it. They were taking so much time chatting with each other and slowly moving to get paid more that I had to tell them to put everything in the living room and my daughter and I had to move them. They didn't put my furniture back together correctly so I had to pay to have that done. They clogged my bathroom toilet without saying anything to me. Due to my disability, I wasn't able to keep checking on them. They used that to their advantage to pad the time. It shouldn't take seven hours to move a small 2 bedroom apartment. I became severely ill that night and called the company when I was better. He was rude, including swearing at me and accepted no responsibility for his employees. Not only did the move cost twice as much as it should have, they left many things in the apartment that I had to move. Again, causing a negative effect on my illness and disability. I had to have the office maintenance come fix the toilet and pay someone to fix the furniture correctly. I didn't take many pictures of the things not moved because of being ill.

Chet's completed this job on February 28, 2025. This job was estimated to take 4-7 hours, depending on how many small boxes needed to be moved and walking distance. Additionally, the guys had to park the truck on the street, due to the parking lot size, which created additional distance. Upon completion of the this job, *** **** was provided the bill and at that time paid and did not mention any concerns about her move, nor question the bill and amount of time said job took, in fact she paid the bill and tipped the guys. Approximately 11 days later, Chet's received a google notification indicating a new review was posted. Shortly after this review was posted, *** **** contacted me stating she feels the guys padded their time, were constantly complaining, and were only carrying one box at time.  A verbal agreement was made over the phone, which was a refund off $200 dollars.  *** **** agreed to this and stated she will remove the review. I sent *** **** a confirmation text of our verbal agreement and again letting her know the check will be put in  the mail the next day.  *** **** then responded with a thumbs down emoji.  I followed up stating I am confused as we just agreed on this.  She indicated that she plans to file further complaints with BBB and Attorney General Office and would be adding pictures of items that allegedly were left behind.  The following day, *** **** sent another text, asking for $500 to resolve the situation.  I declined and offered 300 and asked the reviews  be removed and she replied with asking for $350.At  this point it was determined that *** **** was continuing to use her negative reviews as leverage to get money back. Suggesting a company is taking advantage of someone's disability is slanderous and my company has no knowledge of her illness and or disability nor does my company take advantage of people.  *** **** was respectfully asked to stop contacting my company.  We received a letter from the Nebraska Attorney General's Office which included her complaint.  We provided a response which included the text messages thread.  *** **** noted in her claim that before contacting my company with said complaint, she had to pay someone to come and put her furniture together.  Although, *** **** did not mention this to me when she called, we did reply to the Attorney General's office with the following:  If *** **** can provide an invoice with the cost of repair to couch and details ofwhat was repaired, we will reimburse *** **** for the cost of furniture repair.  *** **** made statements of posting pictures, which by her own report do not exists and so we have no evidence to support items were left behind.  We at Chet's pride ourselves on customer service and understand that things do happen and when issues are brought to our attention immediatley we resolve any concerns right away. Although ** **** did not contact us right away with her concerns, attempt was made to resolve the situation, however *** **** could not be satisfied.
