I resided in telegraph lofts West, a property owned by speedway properties. We were told to give a 30 days notice of the date our lease ends before moving out, but only one of the tenants in my apartment was notified. The property did not notify me or the co-signer. Additionally, Speedway properties wrote this in a letter that was misleading. On the top of the letter, it said we need to let them if we are vacating the apartment before February 28, when our lease was up. This date was highlighted multiple times throughout the letter and in bold. In very small font at the bottom of the letter, it states that we have to let them know 30 days before our lease end date, which was February 28. We stated multiple times before our lease was up in the previous months that we only needed a lease until February 28. The property manager stated that we did not word it appropriately therefore it did not count. We are now being charged an extra month of rent on the month-to-month rate. We tried to come to an agreed moment with the property manager and she was extremely disrespectful and not cooperative.

      Hello *******

Thank you for taking the time to reach out regarding your recent move out experience here at The Telegraph District. There appears to be a disconnect regarding the lease terms here within the district. Please reference the lease attached, which showcases all parties signed and acknowledged on 07/09/2024, which includes the notice to vacate requirements. While I understand that recalling signing said documentation may be a matter, the statement of certain individuals not being notified is not accurate. This solidifies that all parties were informed of the requirements regarding notice to vacate. Additionally, paragraph #46 within the lease agreement references how to submit notice to vacate, as it does require all leaseholders to notify management of the intent to vacate. Lastly, this is communicated in writing within the renewal letter dated 01/09/2025. Also, it is referenced within the lease as well as renewal letter, if management is not notified, the lease with roll over on a month-to-month basis, hence the charges referenced

If the leaseholders have written documentation/record on submitting a proper notice to vacate with all lease parties involved, prior to the 1st of February 2025 to Speedway Management, we would be happy to review. To date, we do not show anything on file.

Management appreciates the feedback regarding the format of the renewal letter and is happy to take the points mentioned into consideration for future format revision opportunities. Also, it is disheartening to hear that you felt the manager was "extremely disrespectful and not cooperative", as this is quite out of character for this individual referenced. This matter will be reviewed and addressed as needed.

We appreciate your open and honest communication with us,
as it greatly assists us with reviewing our current processes and procedures in
place and provides opportunity for improvement.
We take this matter seriously and appreciate your transparency regarding the situation at hand.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because there was no accountability taken for the lack of communication and transparency. The only way this will be settled is if the original funds are returned back to us as tenants. The business did not provide equal communication of the lease agreement with all parties in the lease agreement.

      Sincerely,

Thank you for your follow up. We take customer satisfaction seriously and are glad to hear from you.

We are sorry for the frustration you've experienced. We do appreciate your feedback as it will allow us to resolve any problems that occur and help us to improve our services in the future.

As previously submitted with the executed documentation included, Speedway Properties is in compliance towards the requirements per the lease language.

When Management reaches out in regard to a lease that is set to expire (which Speedway Properties did) it is not a requirement by management/ownership to include a reminder of when to give notice, rather we choose to include this information for resident's reference.

We are happy to take your recommendations into consideration regarding communication via phone, email, and text with our prospects and residents, inclusive of formatting within written correspondence. Examples of this include font size of verbiage, email address inclusion when formatting an email to deploy, etc.

Again, we appreciate all feedback as it is highly beneficial to our Teams growth and development.
