In March of 2023, Cornhusker Construction, owned by **** ******, finished the remodeling project in our home. At initial discussion of our home project we discussed an upstairs and downstairs project. We told **** that we would do the upstairs and depending on satisfaction with that work, we would decide if we would use him for the basement.

At the time our project was quoted to us, **** had the electrical company (*** ********) come out and do a quote. The electrical for both the upstairs and downstairs was quoted at $10,750.00. We have received, and included documentation, of what *** ******** quoted to **** for the project, which was $9,729.07. Meaning at the quote of the project **** charged roughly 9.5% over the quote for the electrical, which seems consistent with the market.

After the completion of our home project in March 2023, **** contacted me on 4/26/23 to see about scheduling the basement project. We discussed it and decided not to go any further with Cornhusker Construction due to many projects in our home being poorly completed, workers never at our house to complete the project, inconsistent communication and upsetting our neighbors. On 5/15/23, we let **** know of this decision and let him know we would like a refund from the basement electrical payment, which he collected the full payment for the upstairs and the basement on. **** then ignored multiple attempted calls and texts until 3 weeks later when he said he would send over an email with our refund amount. On 6/17/23, **** sent an email and said the refund amount would be $2,806.32. The electrical company let us know that the upstairs portion costed $3,529.53 meaning $7,220.47 was what was left that we paid **** for a basement project we did not have completed by him. The electrical company collected $3,099.78 and **** collected the rest. Meaning $4,120.69 is what **** collected on this uncompleted project. However, we have still yet to receive even the $2,806.32 with multiple attempts.
