Maple Lawn Maintenance Inc, started mowing my lawn this past spring. He kept trying to get my business and kept lowering the cost of what he was going to charge me so I decided to give him a chance. I had several issues prior that weren't that big of a deal, but I brought them to the owner's attention. ***** *********. On September 26th, Thursday, his crew came to mow my lawn, I believe it was between 2-3 pm. I went outside around 4:30 pm to water my flowers and noticed a big patch of the flowers were destroyed. It appeared a strong wind laid them over and broke many of the stems. I know they use very powerful blowers to blow the sidewalks off. Whenever the crew would blow the grass off of my walkway, they would blow into the flowers instead of away from the flowers. I called ***** on the same day and asked him to have his crew please be more careful because I have put a lot of time, effort and money into caring for those flowers. He said he would talk to his crew. He did apologize but he also stated he was not going to beg me to be a customer. At no time did he offer to fix the issue or deduct any payment off of my bill to keep me satisfied. The next day I terminated his service and told him to send me his final invoice and that I would be deducting $25 for the damage that his crew caused. He told me if I did that, he would turn me over to a collection agency. He then said that an animal who runs lose in my neighborhood probably caused the damage! I have lived here three years, and nothing has ever ruined these flowers before. I unfortunately do not have a camera to prove any of this, but I sit at my front window everyday working, and I see his staff blow their blowers into my flowers. He was rude and belligerent to me and made me feel like a liar. This man should not be doing business with anyone, he doesn't even care about the reputation of his company. You need to be aware that they caused damage to my beautiful flowers and is now denying it.

I tried to talk to ***** ********** and apologize for anything that happened, she then began to yell and threatened to find a new service. I agreed with her and said if she wanted to find someone else I understand. I was then sent these photos. She explained how they were completely destroyed. I spoke with my staff and what she said and they said was not adding up. She first said the short guy was blowing the flowers, when I asked who was blowing it was not the short guy there is about a 1 foot difference between the two. I then asked when it happened and she said she noticed it a few hours later. I asked could a cat or racoon or rabbit possibly jumped in the flowers, she at that point notified me that no of that exist in her area!!!

And asked how it is possible for absolutely no wildlife of any sort can exist in her neighborhood and she hung up on me. I than received a notice that should would deduct what she wanted from her invoice. I at that point explained we have not had a agreement and I would turn her over to collections.

I do not beg for customers I did match her price she was paying as I felt that it's a nice thing to do for older people sometimes 9n a fixed income. This account has been a complete nightmare all year, I am glad to part ways at this point.

We do use commercial equipment but I find it a little hard to believe that the blower broke stems on a planet. Wish I could prove her wrong.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

*** ********* is making up information.  I texted him @ 5:23 pm on Thursday, September 26th.  This was just hours after his crew mowed my lawn.  I simply wanted him to see the photographs of my flowers that were destroyed. I explained in my text I didn't think anyone did it on purpose but that they really needed to be more respectful of others property.  I have put a lot of time, money and effort into making the flowers look beautiful only to have them destroyed by someone who denies it.  I have been living here for three years planting the same flowers every year, and no animal, as *** ********* implied, such as a rabbit, racoon or cat jumped in them just after his crew mowed my lawn.

I work from home, and my office is in my living room which overlooks my front yard.  I literally saw the employee blow directly INTO the flowers.  At the time I didn't think too much about, but when I went outside later to water the flowers around 4 pm is when I noticed the damaged.

Once I texted *** *********, he then called me.  I explained what happened and he did apologize.  If his employee didn't ruin my flowers then why would he apologize?  I never once said a short guy, so I don't know where that information is coming from.    I did explain it was the smaller man, with blonde hair and a goatee.  He then said he would talk to his staff, he never once volunteered to compensate me for the damage that occurred.  He then said, I am not going to beg you to be my customer.  That is when I knew he didn't care whether or not he had by business or not.

His billing practices are sketchy to say the least.  For the first several bills I received I had to call and get an explanation as to what all of the incidental charges are for.

I decided the next day, that I did not want to do business with a man like *** *********, so I asked him to send me his final bill, and told him I would be deducting $25.00 for the damage that his company caused.  He then said you can't do that, I will turn you into collections.  If he needs to turn me into collections over this, that is up to him.  I will explain to the collection agency what happened.  I really don't think ***** is a good person and he was rude and belligerent to me and he did not care one bit if he lost a customer.  He really shouldn't be dealing with consumers with his poor attitude.

I am hoping by sharing my experience with the BBB that other customers can be aware of his unethical business practices.

    Sincerely,

    ********* **********
