    On 9/11/2024 My mother and I took our truck in for a routine oil change and once over before taking a road trip. Did not have a check engine light when it was dropped off. MATA stated it needed a sway bar and transmission service as well. $1420 we agreed to have him do the work and paid.
    9/12/2024 we picked up the truck, and dropped her car off for the same. Truck had a check engine light on when leaving, called MATA and agreed to drop it back off when the car was finished.
    9/17/2024 paid $300 for the service on the car and dropped off the truck. MATA called later that day, said it had a cylinder 8 misfire and needed coils and plugs $935. We agreed to have the work done.
    9/19/2024 went to pay and pick up the truck. Soon as it started noticed the check engine light was still there. Did not leave and had MATA scan it again. Said cylinder 8 misfire again. MATA then said he didn't have time that week to get to it, bring it back Monday.
    We dropped it off Sunday evening, have recorded video of it leaving my house with no knocking noise.
    9/24/2024 MATA calls and says the motor is blown. After further conversations that were all recorded, he could not give a straight answer about what happened to the truck, just that it's a known issue. Further investigation with other mechanics, realized something is wrong and had it sent to another mechanic. Brings that the truck is a 1 owner 78,000 miles and MATA is the only mechanic who works on it for years. This was a never heard of thing. MATA on recordings stated he felt bad and didn't want to cash the checks and give them back. Our attorney advised not to do that and instead have him return the money via cashier's check. When we asked MATA to do so he stated he's not responsible and will no longer reply and cashed the checks.

    HER AND HER SON ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT FORGETTING TO CHANGE OIL

    we have cameras on premises you can see the technician movements - they take it home they bring it back and they say there is issues, they can come down and look at the cameras I have offered that

    Several times I have offered to this customer to come in and see the video that shows that her car was not started.  We have it recorded and it shows clearly on the DVR.  I have no way to extract the portion to send it to BBB.

    Again. You have gotten hostile with me a 60+ year old lady. Why would I go up there for you to continue to bully? If it's a dvr you can extract it. Stop playing games
