The owner never did produce a contractor's license number even though he kept claiming to be licensed, and I was unable to locate one online for either California or Nebraska. In hindsight, I wish I had not hired this company but I did and now I have to hire an electrician to redo the one kitchen outlet so wires are inside a box rather than a bracket. I also need to have a plumber come out to replace flex pipe (hear drip, drip sound every time water goes down drain; never had that sound before so I'm guessing it's the flex pipe or improperly installed pipes) and fix leaky junction at wall. This owner sawed a wood stud inside my house rather than take it outside the day he began installing sink. Sawdust went everywhere. When the granite counter was installed, it was measured incorrectly and the extra inch was sawed off inside my house. Granite dust everywhere. I bought a black under-mount sink so sink edges would be under the granite but the granite cutout for the sink is such that sink edges are exposed and had to be caulked. At first the owner used white caulk on the black sink and I had to stop him and request black caulk be used instead. Caulking is uneven but I can fix that with another round of caulk. Permanent marker was used to draw lines on granite for cutting and while most washed off, some still remains. The cuts on the granite were not smoothed out, rough edges remain but I'll have a granite expert come out and smooth the edges and fix the hairline crack that occurred during install. While the price for labor seemed very fair, the quality of workmanship is not what I'm used to and I have regrets about hiring this company. Nice enough owner but workmanship is not up to my standards. I am not used to hiring someone to fix what someone else who claims to be a licensed contractor didn't do right in the first place. Cuts corners, I think. Finally, I was told I'd be without water in the kitchen sink overnight. Not true. No water for 2 days and 2 nights.
