      Dear Ms. *****:

I am writing in response to Jayme ****** concern regarding the outstanding balance for service at *****************************************.
According to MidAmerican Energy's (MidAmerican) records, Ms. ****** established natural gas and electric service at *********************************** on February 21, 2018. An agent spoke with Ms. ****** on November 14, 2018, and scheduled a disconnect order for November 27, 2018. A final bill was issued on November 27, 2018, for $$****** due by December 20, 2018.

MidAmerican received a payment for $****** on December 1, 2018, and Ms. ****** established a final bill collection agreement on the remaining balance of $******. The terms of the agreement were ****** installments of $***** to be paid monthly. The agreement defaulted on February 11, 2019, due to non-payment and the remaining final bill balance of $****** was assigned to a collection agency.

Ms. ****** was advised, in error, on January 13, 2022, that the full balance of $****** would need to be paid in full to establish service at a new residence. MidAmerican spoke with Ms. ******, later the same day and correctly advised she would be eligible for new service by establishing a payment agreement. The terms of the agreement would be an up-front payment of $** and **** remaining installments of $** to be added to the current charges on the monthly bill. Ms. ****** stated once the application for the apartment is approved, she will contact MidAmerican to establish service and thanked MidAmerican for working with her.
MidAmerican sincerely apologizes for the oversight and coaching has been provided to the agent.
MidAmerican has provided the phone number for the local energy assistance agency to Ms. ***** and suggested to contact other local agencies or churches for assistance with the bill.

If I can be of any further assistance, or if you have additional questions regarding this matter, please feel free to call me at ************, extension ****.

      Sincerely,

      Sue *******
