April 2, 2025 McCarthys One Hour replaced our furnace and a/c unit in our home. An item of personal property was removed from our home and not located near the furnance being replaced. I have called the company 7 times in the past 3 weeks, spoke to a receptionist every time, and have never received a call back from the Owner or Operations Manager to resolve this. I have emailed the salesperson I worked with and the Owner of the business, still not receiving a reply back. I would like reimbursed for the cost of the personal item removed from my home.

I received communication via e-mail from the client prior to this complaint being received. I have already agreed to refund her the cost of the motor she incurred since the item has most likely been discarded.

On 6/7/2022, they came to install new HVAC system for me. One month later, the coolant ran out as there was a leak on the pipe. Had them came to worked on the pipe and was told the leak was fixed. However, Apr 2024 we had the same issue on the same pipe that they worked on Jul 2022. My system is still in warranty. I told them that their job in 2022 hasn't been finished and asked them to get the repair job done. However, we were told that they need to charge us around $1,500 to repair it.

Dear *** **** and the Better Business Bureau,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We value all feedback and aim to address concerns promptly and fairly.

We acknowledge that you purchased a new HVAC Basic system from One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning, which included an evaporator coil, AC unit, and gas furnace. We appreciate your business and strive to ensure our clients are fully satisfied with their installations.

Several months after the installation, our team identified a leak in the copper line set that was not part of the original installation. We performed the necessary repair at no additional cost to you, recognizing the importance of your system's functionality. At that time, we advised that the copper line set should be replaced due to its condition. This recommendation was also made at the point of sale when you chose your replacement options, but you declined to replace the line set.

Approximately two years later, another leak has occurred in the same copper line set. We understand your frustration and your desire to have this issue resolved under the original warranty. However, as stated previously, the copper line set was not part of the new system installation and does not fall under our warranty coverage. The repair we performed previously was a courtesy to address your immediate concerns, not an indication of ongoing warranty coverage for the original copper line set.

Our warranty covers the components we installed and our workmanship, both of which we stand behind fully. The current issue with the copper line set, original to your home, is outside the scope of our original work and warranty. We have provided you with an estimate of $1,500 to replace the copper line set and have offered a $500 discount as a goodwill gesture. Regrettably, we cannot offer further discounts.

We remain committed to providing quality service and stand by the integrity of our work. We encourage you to consider the replacement of the copper line set to prevent future issues. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions or if you decide to proceed with the replacement.

    Sincerely,

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: this was completely misleading at the stage of sale. The salesman ***** promised my to get the leak fixed. There is no point I would install new system without fixing the leak. It doesn't make any sense. Even the new system will never be functioning properly unless leak is fixed.

    Sincerely,

    *** ****

We called on December 19, McCarthy One Hour Heating because our thermostat was not keeping the temp. They sent out tech Chris *****. He was here for about two hours after which he said we needed several repairs to total $****. He also stated that with the age of our unit he suggested we replace the furnace and air conditioner. If we wanted to get it repaired it would be a couple of weeks before they could get us scheduled. If we wanted a new unit for **-*** he said they could do it the next day. We told him we would think about it. He left us a repair quote with replacing 2 burners, replacing a smart valve and a pressure switch. We got a second opinion from a different company on Dec. 20. The other company showed me that not only do we not need a pressure switch or burners, our unit does not even have a smart valve!! I called McCarthy to cancel our club membership that I had just signed up for but that I wanted my mo way back from the first month they charged. She said she could cancel the membership but that a manager would call me regarding a refund. I have still not received a call from a manager despite me calling again asking to speak to a manager.
