      I am submitting this complaint regarding Behaven Kids due to a deeply concerning and unethical experience that I believe warrants investigation.
      I scheduled an appointment with Behaven Kids to explore ABA therapy services for my son. I was explicitly under the impression that this meeting was informational — to tour the facility and ask questions. At no time was I informed that this would be considered a diagnostic evaluation, nor was such an evaluation conducted. My son was simply present in the room, quietly playing, while I asked staff members questions about their services.
      The condition of the facility was extremely troubling. It was visibly unclean, the staff appeared disorganized and overwhelmed, and there were interior locks on the doors — which raised significant red flags for a center serving young children. Based on this experience, I chose not to move forward with their services.
      However, shortly after, I discovered that they had submitted a claim to my insurance for a “diagnostic evaluation.” This claim is false and entirely misleading — no such evaluation occurred. I spent several days attempting to reach someone, leaving multiple voicemails, messages, and emails. Eventually, they removed the charge to me directly, but refused to retract or correct the insurance billing. This is, in my opinion, a deceptive and fraudulent billing practice.
      Behaven Kids misrepresented their services and billed insurance for a procedure that never occurred. I find this both unethical and deeply concerning, especially for a provider working with vulnerable children and families. I am requesting that the Better Business Bureau investigate this business and help hold them accountable for these actions.
      Behaven Kids is not a trustworthy provider, and based on my experience, I would strongly caution others before seeking services from this facility.

The interior door locks you mentioned are in place for the safety and confidentiality of the children we serve. These locks are designed to prevent unauthorized access to treatment areas (not to restrict clients) but to ensure a secure environment for therapeutic care.
