      We moved from central CA to Maui for work purposes in Oct/2024. We were referred to and proceeded with I Go Van & Storage for their moving services and was told our belongings: small table, cabinet, 2 bed frames, boxes ( we packed our selves), piano ( they had crated), jet ski, and two automobiles would arrive in 6-8 weeks. Upon arriving to Maui we discovered from colleagues and locals that the price charged was greatly escalated and the time for delivery much longer than normal. Upon questioning the moving company we were told repeatedly our items were in route and there was some problem at the port. Upon speaking with an employee who handled our items at the port, we were informed our home furnishings sat at the port in Maui for 4 weeks before I Go Van & Storage had it delivered to us. This moving company was not honest with us regarding this and only admitted this was accurate once a business # and employee name verifying accuracy of details, was given. We received our home items in 9 weeks when we should have received them in 5 - living out of suitcases unnecessarily for 4 extra weeks, & this was only admitted to once we were informed by the Maui port employee. Also, upon conversing with the locally hired moving company employees on Maui, they shared with us how they had all been conversing that whomever loaded our home furnishings was some of the worst they had seen. Given all this, the delayed time and management of our belongings and discovering the escalated price of ~15K compared to colleagues, we asked the company for a discounted price. After verifying we had proof of the delay and escalated price, they agreed they would give us $500.00 off and when we challenged this, they agreed to $1000.00 deduction off of the requested moving charge of $44,478.50. We are writing this complaint to relay our experience with this business and warn others who might be thinking of using this I Go Van & Storage for moving from the mainland to Hawaii - BEWARE.

      *** **** - I once again apologize that you did not receive the move experience you deserved.  There was a major communication error between the port and our forwarder partner & that is why you received your shipment later than you should have.  Normally, a shipment takes about 2 weeks to get delivered out once it arrives at the port.  Yours took 4 weeks to deliver out.  There are no excuses, it was a big communication error.  The delivery ended up being delivered one day past the transit window quoted of 6 to 8 weeks at the beginning of the process.  This is not an excuse, it is just the facts.  We still felt that due to the error that we owed you $500 and then changed to $1000.

      Due to your statements about price, we wanted to respond that our pricing was similar to what we have been quoting for other shipments of recent months.  I'm not sure your other co-workers, but this was the price from our forwarder!

      As discussed, I just don't want you to think we are an immoral company.  We did make some errors, admitted it, and tried to come up with a reasonable solution.

      Our company has been in business since 1898 and has been in our family since the 1940's.  We do things the right way, but are far from perfect.  We made an error and are apologetic for it.
