I attended the Sekeleta midnight release event at Homer's. This was my first experience with this shop and it wasn't a pleasant one. To start, communication with the shop was virtually impossible. I had to contact via three different methods to get a response on one platform with questions about the event timing and how it would work. One of those questions was specifically if pre-ordering was a necessity and I was told no the NIGHT BEFORE THE EVENT. We arrive about an hour before doors open and I think we were about 7th in line. We were told while outside everyone could grab one of each platform for Skeleta but no duplicates. Okay, fair. The second we step foot in the store "we're sold out sorry, but you can go buy other stuff". I'm sorry, you didn't know you were going to run out when you saw that line outside? You ran out in 7 copies and somehow didn't realize that was going to happen when you were asked the evening before and made some sort of plan to advise people or make a workaround? Why not limit what medium people could buy to at least spread around the ability for people to own SOMETHING for showing up and standing in line for over an hour. Instead LV was blamed for not sending enough stock. I'd assume that stock was received more than the day before the event when I asked in the evening about needing to preorder and was told no. There was no indication that you'd have less than 7 copies of the album. There was no apology, just a pitch to get you to buy other things instead. The man running the show was incredibly dismissive of everyone there and their concerns. The kindest thing done for us was hosting the raffle before midnight so the 90% of us who couldn't get the album could just leave. And this doesn't even touch on their follow up with called out about this. Instead of acknowledging how to do better, they accuse people with proof of lying about said proof. Horrendous experience.
