      Have been going here for years. Always happy with treatment and service. In 2023 I went in for my yearly exam not for any issues but had a casual discussion about some dry eye with the doc. No script or anything.
      I was billed $277 dollars after this visit. I called to find out why and billing said because my free yearly visit was coded as preventative because of the " dry eye" conversation. The woman i spoke to said she would look in to it but I never hear back.
      I went in for my yearly exam this year and was told I still owe the $277.
      Called my insurance company. And they confirmed what billing told me.
      I called back to speak to billing about the charge and to reiterate I do not have dry eye nor am I on any script. Also that I have been coming there for years and this is the one and only bill I have ever received that was coded for dry eye. The person in billing said that anytime you voice a complaint to the doctor it is billed. She said she would resubmit to my insurance. I explained that I felt like I was being scammed and not good about this situation.
      She resubmitted, did not change how my visit was coded and the new bill is $100 more than the first one!
      It is because of this trickery that me and my family will never go here again. If scamming good people means more to Brumm than doing the right thing to keep loyal patients then they can do that without me.

      For over 10 years I have been getting my exams at Brumm on 72nd St. Over the last five years they have messed up my the prescription. I have gone to Pearle to get my glasses because they have a better selection. They usually double check by giving me another exam. I believe that they are discriminating against people with physical disabilities. A person may have a physical handicap, but but that does not mean they're unable to think for themselves. It should be up to the patient as to whether or not they have someone with them. Furthermore, if they get away with this does that mean racial or other illegal forms discrimination? I sincerely hope that they will be investigated and proper action will be taken.
